I have a carbon fibre nose which I am trying to identify, from (I'm guessing) a 90's or possibly early 2000's race car, possibly Formula 3000, but could be F3, Formula Renault/BMW or just about anything else!?

I bought it with a load of Lola bits, but doesn't appear to be Lola, I think Reynard is a possibility, but can't find anything that looks an exact match, it has no.'s inside the carbon moulding, have tried Googling, but not come up with anything. The no. is IN 3047 with 5 beneath it

A bit of further info, it is very chunky & heavy (for CF), as was the Lola Champ car tub I had, so it well be something off the U.S. ovals as they are built to withstand big impacts, might help to narrow it down a bit, pretty sure it's not F1!

Does anyone have any (sensible!) ideas?

It looks like the "West" colours that were used on McLaren and some other cars.

Dallara Formula 3 cars from 1998 to 2007 had two top mounted plates attached to the top of the nosecone for fitting to the tub. The 'bonnet' covered up these fixings. Lower mounting points were two countersunk holes either side of the nose which were visible when fitted. 2008 to 2009 cars had different top fixings but were hidden under the bonnet.

the Lola F106/03 has exposed top fixings like yours - my photos shows

It doesn't look like the Reynard F3 cars I'm slightly familiar with from late 1980s..

Thanks for the input, the top fixings do look like those on the Lola F106, but that nose looks a little squarer all round, the "West" colours could be a possible clue, but I've Googled using those terms & come up with nothing.

Any further suggestions anyone?

Could be from one of the old 90's F3000 cars especially if it's in the West livery

A Further couple of pictures just in case it trips anyone's memory! I am becoming more convinced it must be Lola due to the type of mounting, it's similar to both F3000 & Formula Nippon , but just can't find anything identical. The 2003 Lola B03/51 seems very similar, but I can't find any images close up of just the nose - any further ideas from anyone welcomed!

The "cutaways" for the wing mounts are quite distinctive - see pic, you can also see it has similar 2 bolt lower fixing to the upper mounts

Can't find any other images of the 106 04 apart from the one you've found, again looks similar but probably not the same. I have applied to join the Lola Heritage site as you would expect someone on there to have the knowledge if it is Lola, waiting for moderatot approval, but don't even know if the site is still going since Lola went down the pan! confused

Many thanks for the additional images, it certainly looks very, very similar, the 2nd image of the black one shows the lower mounts which look the same, not sure if the wing mountings look identical tho' - I think mine may possibly look a little further back?
