Best of it is, I don’t think the new Honda will be up to much this year. Matt Neal saying they were behind in build as they had to re engineer the car.
Matt Neal does tend to play it down though, doesn't he? smile

Chilton's dad was a part owner of Benfield Group, who were acquired by Aon in 2008. I'd be willing to bet he's involved in the Gallagher sponsorship that Tom has... wink

There’s no conspiracy theory you penis, it’s an opinion... If the Focus is so great then why would he be looking elsewhere after agreeing a seat? Because the Honda will be a better car and he wants to win. Better car = better offer. It’s not like he’s being paid to drive, like all the others he’s paying to be in the car.
You really have no idea how it all works in BTCC have you? Yet you resort to crass insults when someone disagrees with you.

MJ was not "looking elsewhere", quite the contrary. He was booted out from Motorbase, not the other way around.

So despite you stating he had a better off and HE asked for the contract to be terminated, he’s also been booted out and wasn’t looking to go elsewhere?

Which is then, he either had a better offer and wanted the contract to be terminated or he’s been booted out for no explanation.

I’m well aware of how stuff works I’m also well aware when someone is contradicting themselves in the same post

Jesus fking titty Christ! I've read some nonsense on these forums but that takes the biscuit. Motorbase got rid of MJ 'cos he's a fat bd. Really?
Strewth, talking about adding 2+2 and getting 5. Where on earth did I say they got rid of him because he's fat?

Let's put it more simply for you, so that you can understand it:

MJ has signed a contract with Motorbase for the 2018 season. At this stage everything is hunky dory and he is not looking to go elsewhere.

Shedden announces he's leaving BTCC.

After a while someone offers MJ a drive, even though he's contracted to Motorbase.

MJ asks to be released from his contract to take up this new offer. Motorbase refuses to let him go from the contract.

MJ cannot take up the kind offer from the other team as he is under contract with Motorbase (and cannot get out of this contract).

So the other team offer the drive to someone else.

Motorbase waits until the announcement of the other team's new driver, then explains to MJ that his services are no longer necessary.

Clear enough?

I’m not saying he was looking to go elsewhere when he signed, he was looking to go elsewhere as soon as the Honda drive came up and he knew there was a chance it could be his. Which has been the point I’ve made all along.

Not only are you being a condescending prick you’re also stating the bloody obvious. Try reading more than one post and you’ll get beyond some conspiracy crap in your head you want to reply to just for the sakes of having an argument.

You must have a vengeful streak if that is the obvious explanation to you - I'm not denying its possible. But that you are deeming it the only possibility means I wouldn't want to get on your bad side.

Also - re the weight comment. You have over-reacted there a (big) sniff. I don't think the poster is saying that is why he was sacked. They were just opining on something they had observed.

And I agree - if he was talking the talk about being the best, surely that motivation stretches to not being a stone north of proper?

I compete in a local hill climb championship and I'm getting myself into some sort of shape.... he was just wondering why MJ doesn't seem to walk the walk as much as he claims

To be fair, weight isn’t really an issue as the cars have a minimum weight anyway and are weighed with the driver in post race.

In theory, you can compensate for someone being a bit tubby by running the car lighter somewhere else, like slightly less fuel etc.

If there is going to be a third seat at BMR Subaru then I imagine it would be Cole in it. Not many drivers left out there and james has two years in that car. That would be where my money goes but who knows. This is silly season afterrall.
