I'm not sure what the others were thinking when they pitted, it was obvious that there'd be no time for a restart.

Enjoyed the race, the new aerokit puts it back into the drivers' hands as they can't run wide open throttle 2-wide all race.

Good win for Rossi, with a brave 2 stop strategy. It really can't be long before Wickens wins though

Wickens has to win one soon, he arguably could have won 3 or 4 this year.

Really enjoyed yesterday's race, proves that you don't need constant yellows to produce good racing.

I think they said Wickens still has a bit of a heavy right foot and he's only a bit of lift and coast away from winning.

Edited to correct spooling error.

I can't remember the last time I've been so excited by a rookie not driving for top echelon team. Perhaps not since my hero driver Greg Moore.

Nasty crash there at Pocono - here's hoping the driver is ok

Really hope Wickens is OK.

Michael Andretti showed himself to be a really tasteless, crass individual, though.

IndyCar just announcing that he was awake and alert when transferred to hospital. Phew.

Saw the replay, very reminiscent of Kenny Brack's accident at Texas in 2003.

Will have to wait for the race to be posted on Youtube - my BT TV box threw a wobbly and all it recorded was a highly pixellated rainbow frown

Yeah, his interview made me throw up a little. To imply that it was Wickens' fault... fking prick. From replays (which they only showed once or twice right after crash) it was obvious that RHR's spotter kept telling Ryan that inside was not clear, yet he stayed low and went even lower and that led to the crash.

I really hope Wickens is ok. He's an amazing talent.

Utterly tasteless and factually inaccurate nonsense from Andretti

Saying RHR hadn't seen Wickens, contradicted by RHR himself who confirmed he knew Wickens was there.

All of this well before anyone knew Wickens condition

Accident caused by RHR moving down onto Wickens IMO

I felt sick after watching that crash and thought the worst. Very relived to hear Wickens was awake and alert. Disappointed with Andretti's interview but not surprised as he has form for that kind of thing.

I thought it was a decent race, nothing special. I was kind of hoping they'd throw a yellow for the Daly incident, just to close things up.

I think the aerokit needs tweaked for superspeedways to make overtaking a little easier, but not to encourage the pack racing we've seen before. At least we can all be thankful that IndyCar isn't afraid to admit things aren't perfect and make adjustments when needed.

Looks like it'll be Rossi vs Dixon for the title, I'm looking forward to that.

I hope it's only that, watching the replays in slomo the way his head moves as if he had no hans device is scary AF and that "spine injury" worries me.

That's a horrible crash. Looks like the fence helped in part (stopped it exiting the track) but caused the extreme rotation due to the angle.

Maybe they'll stop racing there now.

This was only in 2010, the old 'safety trees' in action - https://youtu.be/iwIXkCZ0uPw?t=83 they have put saftey catch fencing all around now but the circuit is not suited to Indycar.

None of the superspeedways are suitable for open wheel racing, even Indy. Most horrific lethal crashes almost always happened at one of them. I'll never forget Greg Moor's crash, that was the first freaking nasty one I've seen (even the Toronto crash from 1997 wasn't as terrifying).

I don't know how many more of these type of crashes we have to see before someone finally decides they really shouldn't be on these sort of tracks?
The only "small" issue is the Indy 500 and it being the main event of the year.
