I'm taking the family to see the BTCC at Thruxton on Sunday. We have grandstand seats as we didn't know what the weather was going to be like. Factor 50 needed for my fair Scottish skin by the looks of things.
Is there anything we should know about traveling there from Dorset. Things to see and do when we are there and generally anything to make the day more enjoyable.
Thanks in advance.

I will be there in a blue r26 megane with ph smiley on the back. If you see me your welcome to come over and say hi. Probably be there late as other car things in the morning.

Warm clothes. Layers, and plenty of them, even if the forecast is for sun and 30c.

It's a typical British airfield circuit, adjacent to Salisbury Plain, so there's nothing stopping the weather from whistling across it and making the place feel like Siberia.

Have a good day!

How did you enjoy it? Didn't see this thread but I was there in the Skyline and had a great day. In true Brit fashion I had a hoodie/t-shirt and waterproof but didn't need it as it was a blistering day biggrin

We were down by the entrance to the complex which is a great place to be. Saw someone with a PH t-shirt that said "straights are for fast cars, corners are for fast drivers" lol

We all had a great time. The children chose a cap each then we went to the pits and got the appropriate drivers to sign them. This was awesome for them. We also got to stand on the track as they closed the pit lane and we were marshalled out. The grandstand seats were a great idea as we could move around freely between races and not loose our spot. The view was great at Club Chicane. There was a lot of action and quite a few incidents there which added to the day. The big screen also helped as we could follow the races. We also enjoyed watching the skid pan and ate lots of free Shreddies. So a great day out had by all. We will certainly be back.

thruxton is a great circuit to watch and race on,ive ridden moto gp bikes there in the 80,s,falling off at fast allard and driven prototype race cars there, its a pity the nimbys have lowered the decibel limit to 94, you wont get a golf diesel through that on a track day
