If it wasn't for the GTE classes this would be rather dull. As it is, the GTE racing is immense.
Same actually. Without Audi or Porsche, it’s a bit of a pointless LMP1 race. Will Toyota really feel like their win is ‘real’ without them beating their main rivals?GTE is (as always) great though!
I have live timing from https://timing.71wytham.org.uk/s/lm24 and have noticed that Eurosport 1 on Sky is approximately 10 seconds behind live.
Why in Gods name does the coverage keep cutting to two blokes standing over a table!
God knows how much Eurosport are paying TK to do this awful crap and Cole, Jeez man its bad enough listening to you trying to make rallycross sound interesting.
Just let the race be on, no interviews, they never say anything interesting. What is it with these tv idiots.

Eurosport is around 50 seconds behind the timing site, RLM are 30 seconds ahead of Eurosport. I'm using Audio Hijack to delay the audio from RLM so it matches Eurosport. That's enough re-syncing for my needs.
I'm not complaining, the fact that all these feeds, audio, video and text based is incredible.

A win is a win. For the past couple of years, they were beating Porsche, but they lost because they couldn't nail the reliability. So long as their cars can last race distance, it would be fair to say they would beat Porsche. But you know what they say....to finish first, first you must finish.

It's not Toyotas fault the others have pulled out, surely the blame should go to Audi who don't want to play when the rules don't give them an advantage
But you know what they say....to finish first, first you must finish.I disagree. They aren’t racing anyone. It’s a reliability test for 24hours. They could be at the test track doing it. Sure it’s hard, but there isn’t anyone attacking you whilst doing it.

Not saying it’s anyones fadult, just saying it is a bit of a hollow victory when you aren’t beating the best. p1stonhead said:

And how many years have Audi and Porsche done that in the past? It’s like how Andy Murray might feel if Djokovic, Nadal and Federer all quit about 5 years ago and he cleaned up on all the tournaments. Not the same as him beating them.

Has anyone here been to Le Mans? I'm tempted to go but no idea what that comprises apart from a hoon there and then camping.
If you want to sleep at any point, don’t camp at the track. And if you want any sort of decent facilities that aren’t shocking halfway through the weekend don’t camp at the track Plenty to do in the days leading upto the race, pit lane walk is really good on the Friday. Few different events all over the place.
For the actual race the Dunlop curves are the best place to stand at the start, all the cars coming through together on lap one is spectacular. Try and get down to Arnage/Indianapolis at night, watching the cars come out of the dark and then disappear into it again from one end of the small straight and out again is something it’s tricky to replicate anywhere else. Traffic and parking down there are mental but well worth it.
Oh and be prepared to drink ALL the beer/local cider.
