On a different note, is anyone heading to the revamped North west stages? Entry looks mega.. Tour of Epynt and Agbo before that though! Busy month of rallying coming soon....
I want to do the Cambrian, but it's a 2 day jobby for me from where I live, so I think the Tour of Epynt, Rally Nuts Stages, WRC Sardinia and Rally Gb will be my rally action for the year.

Make sure you get the camera out, because iirc you film don’t you?

I fancy Ypres this year as it looks like a mega few days away with the historic event.

Cambrian entry looks the strongest for a few years, hopefully the BRC is back to being the strongest UK series.

Mainly photography, but I barely touched the camera last year, as I couldn't be bothered with finding spots to shoot from or sorting out hundreds of pictures. Hopefully some time out from it will get me back into it again.

Ypres is a nice, cheap foreign event to do, every year I mean to go back!

My mission is to be competing again as done anything since Mull in 2017 not even to watch! Hopefully will have the little French rocket out on the stages once I have finished building it!

Hi guys,

I think I’m posting this in the appropriate thread - I’m planning on attending the BRC Cambrian Rally on the 16th Feb, I’ve never attended a rally stage before so I’m a complete novice in terms of what to expect, but I’m looking forward to it.

However, unlike other stages websites, the Cambrian rally website doesn’t mention anything about parking locations and/or spectator costs - Could anyone help me out and point me in the right direction? I’m assuming it’s free to spectate by looking at the website!

Think I read it's £10 per car, but don't hold me to that!

Annoyingly some events don't put up some info until a few days before the event, which if you're travelling a long distance like I usually do, is a pain! I'd keep on checking the website/social media for info, as I'm pretty sure it will appear soon.

If you are hoping to go find your own spot to watch from, make sure you get to the stage a good hour or so before the 1st car, else you might have trouble getting away from the spectator area.

Enjoy your day, it's a cracking entry list and I'm gutted I'm not going myself!

Not a bad year planned at this point:
Clacton & Tendring
Abingdon
Harry Flatters
Trackrod
WRGB
Mull (here’s hoping)

September - October is busy, the last three are consecutive weekends. There’s also the off-road events, TYRO and others, but that’s as a competitor for the first time in many years.

I'm hoping for a busy year again this year with a mix of events and participation;

On Sat I'm going to hopefully sneak to Blyton for a couple of hours spectating
Cambrian - Marshalling
North West Stages - Marshalling
Alan Healy Memorial Rally - Oraganiser (secretary & comp secretary)
Clacton (Corbeau stages) Marshalling (radio hopefully)
Ypres - more of a wish - poss marshalling
Twyford - competing
Fulbeck 1 - Marshalling
Fulbeck 2 - Competing
WRGB - Marshalling
Malton - Competing (maybe)
Grizedale - not sure

Looking forward to a great year thumbup

You're correct, managed to find a contact e-mail and got a surprisingly quick response!

Thanks! My car is pretty low so hopefully I'll find some decent tarmac'd parking, not up for much off-roading hehe

You'll be lucky to find tarmac in a forest.

The drive off road to the stage car parks can be long and rough.

I thought there would be parking off B-roads, maybe a short gravel/dirt track stint followed by a decent walk to the stage - Not full on off road! I did say I was a complete novice hehe

They haven’t publicised the spectator car park locations as of yet, so I’ll have to have a look on google maps etc and see what it’s about...

The forest tracks won't be on Google maps.

I've not been to the Cambrian ,but have been to Wales for Rally GB and other rallies.

Ah this is going to be a problem... I don't fancy trying to scrape a lowered M235i through forest tracks... Would it not be possible to walk up to a spectating location from a more suitable parking area? There are no specifics on locations yet so I can't check, but just from experience? Is this not something people do?

Yes if you can find out the full stage route. Both the Alwen and Clocaenog stages usually have sections that run pretty close to the public road. Just don't park somewhere that'll cause PR issues for the organisers. Alwen is the other side of the road from the Brenig visitor centre if you want to be in a proper car park.

I'll keep checking the website, hopefully they'll release the full stage route along with spectator parking locations soon.

I managed to find a 2016 stage information booklet and based on that Alwen would be my choice, based on parking as you say, being near the reservoir itself I imagine would be pretty scenic plus it's closest to my house hehe!

Anyone know what stages are being used on the NW stages?
