Why Thruxton though? Maybe other tracks have other committments for that week but the place lacks facilities and spectating areas are limited so I would have gone with another option.
Exactly, Oulton and Snetterton have more that 1 layout they could use.

And Donington. They used to use both Donington layouts in the 90's

BTCC is probably the biggest money spinner for any UK track so BARC are bound to give themselves another go.

Silverstone would be the better choice. Oulton, Snetterton and Donington all use either an extra bit of the same circuit or cut a bit out... A second round at Silverstone would be a completely different layout.

I think perhaps a longer top gear might help, as they were topping out which kind of blocks the main overtaking opportunity.

IIRC they can't use the international layout at Silverstone because the pit complex is not big enough to house the support races or there isn't enough pit garages for a 32 car grid hence why they use the (rubbish) national.

They could use the old pits and race the GP circuit but that would result in a race with only a few laps and I'm sure Gow is against that as the spectators only see the cars go past 6 times instead of 15 or so.

The reason for thruxton this year is it was easier to shoehorn it in as BARC own it. They have said they will look at other circuits in the future though. I'm hoping for Donington international next.

There’s 41 garages in the Wing. The paddock might not be as big as the old one but it’s also not at most other circuits, Brands uses 2, Rockingham did, as do others. There’s loads of space behind the paddock on the Stowe circuit they could use. It’s definitely possible.

First time at Thruxton yesterday. Had a great day out, but the Minis and Ginettas were the highliht for me which I wasn't expecting. In comparison the BTCC and F4 were a bit dull, I didn't bother staying for the last BTCC race.

Are the Minis a regular feature on the BTCC support, and just not usually televised, or was this a one-off for some reason?

One off. The Ginetta GT5 Challenge was an extra too, due to having no Porsche, Clio or Ginetta Supercup.

On the plus side, if you fancy more of that the entry at any of their other rounds would likely be around half price. thumbup

Minis were ridiculousky awesome. Ginetta were as mad as you'd exoect for cars driven by 11 year olds, it that's how old they looked.

Formula 4 is watched purely to see if we can spot our friend Roger who is the formula ford chief scrutineer,

Only caught the 3rd btcc race, and if the others were the same, then I'm not bothered I missed them

Gow missing a trick if he doesn't incorporate at least a couple of televised mini races a year.

BMW Minis are on the TOCA package next year instead of the Clios. Hopefully they'll be as entertaining as the classic minis.

More like the Clio Cup from what I've seen of them supporting British GT's.

The Clios were always one of the best races on the package until the grid started to fall. If the Minis can produce a decent sized grid the racing should be good.

I think it'd be great if one round they ONLY did Minis as support.

Basically this - https://brandshatch.mini-festival.co.uk/whats-raci... - but somewhere mid season, plus 3 BTCC races.

Fair enough, I stand corrected!
