Rosberg to Ferrari in 2020?
Discussion
If 'nobody' has considered it, then I guess it definitely won't happen
I suppose it's not impossible, but trillions of things that aren't happening in F1 today could in theory happen tomorrow - why this particular theory?
He left because he couldn't beat Lewis without destroying the rest of his life and becoming all consumed by F1, and even then he only just managed it. He has said it wasn't an effort he could repeat, so he hung up his helmet, so to speak.
If he's not happy coming second to Lewis in the best car, why would he return to a lesser team and at best be 3rd/4th? In all likelihood 5th at best if Red Bull keep up the pressure on Ferrari next year, without the Gasly chain and ball for the first half of the season.
You're expecting a lot of a guy who has built a full and fun family/media life since leaving, to return to a far less potent team than the one he left. the Ferrari comments he made, as so many of his comments, are probably to stir some social media and press reaction. Let's not forget he has said many more times that he won't return to F1.

From what he was saying at Monza I doubt he would put his life at risk like that anymore either.... he commented that Indycar scared him. He's just interested in raising his family, He won the crown jewels once. He doesn't need to do it again.... he's never going to beat MS's 7 titles, so what's another one to him.
Fair play to him for deciding what he did and having the courage to follow through. Could see him being a team owner at some point though!

Do racers make good team owners? I think they are too self-centred. Maybe as a figure-head but not as an operational boss.Prost tried with his own team. Maybe working better at Renault?
Helmut Marko is a strong advisor to RB but not operations
Adrian Newey was an OK racer, a better team principal.

Sure you don't mean Horner? Newey started racing after he became a designer and he's never been a team principal.Adrian Newey was an OK racer, a better team principal.

To be fair, the Prost team was doing pretty well, then Peugeot pulled the plug on the cash and it all went a bit tits from there. Prost tried with his own team. Maybe working better at Renault?

Agreed. 0 chance.
Also I think he has said he isn't "F1 fit" anymore as he no longer needs to train / weight manage etc.
Yeah....have you seen him on Sky? Really piled on the pounds. My heart bleeds for the porker. He must be up to a 20" waist by now. Also I think he has said he isn't "F1 fit" anymore as he no longer needs to train / weight manage etc.
Unlike the svelte Mark Blundell who's kept it off since he retired from F1. I'm not sure what 'it' is, precisely, or what it was kept off of.

Definitely random thought of the day. Why not an even more random Giovinazzi to drive for Ferrari?
Why not simply Vettel to stay at Ferrari - I really don’t think that he is planning retirement
Giovanazzi to Ferrari isn't random given he's a Ferrai Academy product ... albeit one being shown up by Kimi. Why not simply Vettel to stay at Ferrari - I really don’t think that he is planning retirement
George Russell would be my random choice - would love to see him and LeClerc in the red cars next year or the year after. Yes he has a Mercedes contrcat but these things are elastic. If nothing else it might force Mercedes to give him Bottas' seat
