I can’t have been the only one hoping for Flash to end up in a focus next to Rory. Neate seems to have gone down like a lead balloon, hopefully he doesn’t prove us all right with terrible results.
You might be the only one.

I’m disappointed to see Rob Austin isn’t returning this year either. That and selling his Alfa. I wonder if he has given up on driving.

At least Hamilton will have some company in the gravel now.

Its not his car its hms car rob just drove it.
As for neate what a joke he must be bringing plenty of dosh and in full for motorbase to even consider him. Also saw a link to here on the 2012 Silverstone btcc thread where ollie didn't have many nice things to say about neate. This is going to be carnage hope motorbase is prepared to see one car in the gravel.

Didn't see that one coming. What happened with him and Dynamics? Did he have an invisible bag of ghost cash or did they part company over poor results?

Actually I bumped into Austino at Autosport in Jan. He was looking super fit and ready for his season of racing... Citroen C1’s

I actually wonder if he might be the Stig

Oops. Forgot about that rofl

Long time ago, I’ve experienced plenty of shenanigans since then, difficult to hold any hard feelings that long in BTCC when you’re usually only one or two rounds from being fired off by pretty much anyone on the grid hehe

Poor results??! He only did one race/round!!
It’s ridiculous, the bloke is a complete shyster and a charlatan. This is beyond a joke.

Why ?

It's a business , if a team needs money and he's prepared to pay for his seat then it suits all parties.

Apparently Honda didn't allow him to show his talent....
And he didn't allow Honda to see any cash. Be interesting to see how far into the season he gets before the same happens again

Leaving aside what people think of his character is he really that terrible a driver? He's always had top level team mates and been soundly beaten by then but isn't that true of many, many drivers who have been through the BTCC? Yes he's no championship contender but I don't see him as someone who's going to be hanging off the back of the pack.

I prefer to reserve judgement until I see what actually happens rather than condemn in advance.

Would much prefer someone like Rob Collard, or Shedden in that car, but needs must I guess..
Just been announced Collard is going to do British GT instead of BTCC this season.

What about the Chevy built by Mallock’s and all the ex championship winning WTCC Mallock staff that was employed to run the team. Not good enough to show his talent? Hope he settled all the people he didn’t pay while the “see you next Thursday” was flying around in his chopper.

Disappointed to see Neate back. Seem to remember Lord Gow saying in 2016 after the Dynamics Honda debacle that an Andy Neate entry wouldn't be allowed ... wonder what changed?

At least being in the same team he's less likely to bash Ollie off now! rofl

He’s had a very good day today, especially considering he’s not been in a racing car for 4 years.

He’s definitely going to have a better year than some of the other new arrivals in the last couple of years

And piss taking aside about showing his ability, he’s in the right place to develop as a driver, Motorbase is a much warmer team than most, and we all want him to succeed

I might buy a few C1s then, if only to provide donor shells!
