Spare Honda and Spare licence .... = Shedden ?
TOCA want to reduce the number of cars on the grid to 26. It's now 29 so there's no reason for them to do that. If a major manufacturer turned up with a full blown works package I expect they would loan them out if they couldn't convince an independent to sell but otherwise they'll carry on with the reduction.Annoying tt won’t go away yet
The 53-year-old suffered a heavy mountain-bike accident seven weeks ago, meaning that the Team Dynamics-run Honda squad inserted Neal's fellow three-time title winner Gordon Shedden in Neal's Civic Type-R for the beginning of its test programme.
Shedden has been on standby to replace Neal for the 2020 opening round at Donington Park on 28-29 March alongside Dan Cammish, but Neal reckons he can make his target after completing 100 laps of the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit.
"I did 70 laps on Tuesday and 30 laps yesterday [Wednesday], and I feel pretty sore today," the three-times BTCC champion told Autosport.
"The inside of the shoulder is the worst - the seat is so stiff on the ribs, you have the HANS device on your collar, so the shoulder is driving the thing and doing all the work, and all three are giving me discomfort.
"I'm looking for rib protectors now, because we've got a full-on week next week - we're at the Media Day at Silverstone on Tuesday, Donington on Thursday and Croft on Friday, so that's a bit of an acid test for me, but I've almost made up my mind I'm going to go for it."

Fair play though, after what he did to come back and race shows what determined people these racers are.
I doubt he knows what else to do with himself. A bit like Plato. This is their focus for so many years that they can't conceive of not being on the grid if they can possibly get there.Eventually something will happen forcing their hand. I wouldn't be surprised if after accepting they are out for the year, that there's an underlying sense of relief that the pressure has gone.
Atm the first race is due to go ahead as planned however considering current events and cancelled events I can well see the first few rds being cancelled. I suspect cases and deaths from covid-19 with easily double going into next week alone. If one team member does catch it then all bets are off.
The government's going to make an announcement on Monday about "mass gatherings of over 1000 people". I assume TOCA will follow with an announcement later that day.
The test day at Silverstone on Tuesday will still go ahead however, but whether Silverstone allows entry to spectators remains to be seen.

Well the Porsche media day/test day is to be held behind closed doors. I really cant see the first few events to happen tbh.The test day at Silverstone on Tuesday will still go ahead however, but whether Silverstone allows entry to spectators remains to be seen.
