If it had been Neal his comments may have been different, but he had his facts straight when interviewed, hit by turkington but knew it was Ingram who pushed him. Actually Neal seemed quite and didn't appear to do too much rubbing, it looks like he was helping Cammish more than trying to get his own campaign underway.

With the non-stop stream of correspondence from TOCA to teams and series leading up to the weekend,
"non-stop stream of correspondence" — seriously? The lack of communication and clarity had most teams frustrated.

Would be interesting to see whether there are any boost adjustments coming to the Infinity. Just driving away from everyone like that in race 3, with 35kg on, won't have gone unnoticed. Even if that happens, I still think he's the one to beat this year.
They're using the standard TOCA engine though aren't they? Unless I've totally misunderstood the process if they reduce the boost for them then they reduce it for everyone using that engine and the calculation takes into account all the cars using that engine to start with.

With the Subaru, BMW and Hondas they were all using their own engine.

I think the rules are engine and chassis. So anybody running the TOCA engine in the Infinity would get the same boost level. The same engine in the Corolla, VW CC etc will have their own different levels.

I’m not sure that’s true, I thought that all Swindon engines ran the same boost, although there will be a few extra restrictions for RWD cars with one

Wookie, hows the prep for brands going? Any major changes or happy with the setup from Donnie?

All good! All three cars were pretty well unscathed so the boys are happy.

Big change happened after Race 1, bit of work to do to refine it but it did the job so nothing too controversial thumbup

Fingers crossed! Would be great to stand on the podium again, especially a ‘proper’ podium if you see what I mean rather than a fortunate one!

I wonder how the teams finances are doing?

Alan Gow (as if your reading) How about a competition?

What are there 28 cars on the grid? How about at the last round you have 28 places for passenger rides with all the cars on the grid at the same time say two laps at the lunch break? It would be the closest us mere mortals would ever get to being in the pack. £50 quid a ticket picked out the 'reverse grid hat' by Paul o Neil Steve Ryder and Tim Harvey, proceeds to go equally to each team?

As someone involved in organising events, passenger rides are a pain in the butt to organise. Have insurance implications etc.

You can't just put a seat in a race car and then take it out. I suspect with how a lot of the BTCC cars are set up. You couldn't put a passenger seat in.

They used to organise a day at Snetterton, I think it used to be for the British Heart Foundation . Where a lot of the top salon car drivers would take you round the track for a " donation"

You can put a seat in but it’s a ball ache

Plus you’d have to sell a LOT of tickets to put a dent in a typical budget!

I would have thought a BTCC car would cost almost £50 per lap to run.

I was lucky enough to get a passenger ride around donnington in a Ford Escort WRC car. It was a Ford RS day back in about 1998/9.

It was driven by one of the works test drivers. Still to this day I don’t know how a car can stay on a track at that speed. The thought of doing it on snow or gravel between rows of trees just seems insane.

Much Respect.

I’d willingly chuck a couple hundred quid in to have a pro driver take me for a couple of laps.

I was lucky enough to get invited to do VIP with Rob Austin at Rockingham in 2018 thanks to a fellow PH. As can be seen from the image. A lot of the electronics and ballast goes in the passenger seat position.

To be fair, it can be done. I did passenger laps for charity on a couple of VAG Tuner days with the Audi. Even got to take my Dad and (significantly more reluctant) Wife round Donington in it!

Reckon I claimed at least 3 red flags with people trying to copy my braking points and two full on engine roddings with people trying to stay in front of me in their modded RS's hehe

As said though, the cars cost a huge amount of money just to get them to where they're running, let alone actually putting them out round the track

Go on Ollie, mention it to the higher powers just to see their faces if nothing else!

Aiden Moffat did passenger laps for sponsors last year at a Silverstone test day. So it can be done, but it certainly will not be done at a BTCC race meeting. Teams have got rather more things to worry about between races.
