I thought the vehicle occupancy issue had been resolved, hence why rallying will be able to go ahead?

I was bemused to read on Dirtfish that they want to use events, where it would be hard for spectators to attend, yet the Wyedean might run in the Btrda. That's the easiest gravel rally to stage hop!
Reading the current government guidance I’d suggest it isn’t really appropriate to car share for non essential purposes. But it it is quite vague ( deliberately).
One could argue the crew are in a social bubble.

There are a couple rally sprints planned at the moment, one at Sweet Lamb and another at a rally experience school I believe.
Yes, I saw that - one wishes them well, lets hope they get a decent entry; having spectated on the Sweetlamb version quite a few times, it's a good event.
Both of those now postponed because of continued Welsh government restrictions on mass gatherings.

I see an event happened in Scotland over the weekend that got round the "mass gathering" thing by running it as two separate "bubbles".

Yes, clever thinking by the organisers of that event.

Looks like rallying is going well in Italy, with plenty of positive comments about the ERC round the other week..

Nice video from last weekends Rally di Alba

're Italy .....I had been keeping up to date with stuff happening in October and was going to be seeing the Rally Due Valli same as last year.
But I'm not going to Italy at all now ,not CV related.
I also had Rally Pistoia in my 2 week trip until it moved to September.

Good to see Craig Breen getting in some useful match practice . Shame to hear the passing of Brian Patterson this week , big fan of Craig , and a huge con tributor to the sport in many many ways , pacenotes bulletins and lots more . Will be greatly missed

Alba looked almost a sort of Mantta rally type event, full of top level WRC teams and obviously ERC teams and drivers, looks great.

Such a shame other countries seem more advanced int he way they treat sport in comparison to us. but maybe the areas are less populated etc

To be fair we've seen the return of football, horse racing, snooker, cricket, plus F1 as well as the start of the BTCC, British GT, and BSB will return soon.

However, as this is a rally thread; as a spectator, I don't think there will be much opportunity to get out to watch many events for the rest of the year - and unlike all those events, there will be no way to watch online/TV.

I heard M-Sport are looking at doing some sort of live online coverage of their Greystoke event so perhaps there might be something to watch, even if it's just a load of Fords!

Forestry England have pulled access to the forests for rallying & motorcycle enduros for the rest of this year due to Covid-19. So, Malton Forest Rally cancelled. Grizedale & Carlisle are surely soon to follow??

So very frustrating, especially when you see rallying starting up in lots of other countries!!

I have to be honest I always thought that rallying would be affected in the UK more than most other motorsports; BTCC, BSB & British GT amongst the headline events as well as lots of club events - all the time rallying is left to look on.

It's kind of funny that it's a sport where spectators would love to be socially distanced from others, preferably at their own corner!

Ah well, have bit of Oliver Solberg onboard, with some brilliant co-driving by Aaron Johnston. He barely gets to take a breath!

I do think forest rallying in the UK is on it's last legs, unfortunately. The Forestry Commision (in it's various guises across the UK) increasingly sees rallying as not really fitting into its leisure plans for the use of the forests.

There are not enough "forests" in private hands either, to be tapped into.

I couldn't see Greystoke being used more than about 3 times in a year. As it is to valuable as a testing venue.

Given that there won't be any other events this year you'd think that some circuit venues will be keen to run a few rallies over the winter. But I guess that depends on whether the clubs can run them..

What have the Mod did about rallying on places like Epynt? I'm guessing the same as Forestry England.
