Watched it last night on premier sports.
Looked like Legano had a hand to play in two of the big smashes.
The Ryan Newman crash on the final lap was scary to watch. Really thought I'd be reading news of his death this morning.
Thankfully it sounds like he's not in life threatening condition, but still serious.

I really hope “serious” dosnt translate to life changing.
I thought the race was a good one and feel very sorry for Hamlin celebrating etc and not knowing what was going on. Even watching live I didn’t realise Newman was in that much trouble. So many races have ended that way with no consequences!
Get well soon Newman!

Just caught up with the race, first time I have actually sat down and watched a Nascar race in full.
First off, it really wasn't as dull as I expected it to be, I think splitting the race into stages with points for each stage really helped keep the excitement going (if not rather artificial).
Second, the strategies teams applied. Watching the manufacturers work together to get up front or stay out of trouble was fascinating, one minuet Toyota were all out back then come the stops and they are all leading nose to tail.
How does bump drafting work? I understand the car in front is punching a hole in the air so the car behind gets a good slipstream, is it simply a case of using this extra 4-5mph bonus to shove the car in front along?
They edited out the last corner incident and after finding a news vid on it I can see why. Scary crash, and the commentators were so laid back about it, I guess if you see it all the time you become less effected.

Yup, Sunday evening for return to full action at "The track too tough to tame"! Uriah Heep fans may prefer its other nickname - "The Lady In Black".
Watched it on premier 1. Decent race. Very odd without any fans though.
Must be weird for the drivers, no qualifying and no practice. Going into that 1st turn at 200mph and hoping it'll stick
Think they're back there again tonight so at least they should have a good idea for setups this time round.
Good to see Newman back though.

Still no info about who originally made the complaint.
Edit - statement from Petty motorsports states it was one of their crew that reported rope to Nascar.
