Such a cruel turn of events. I hope he and his family have some comfort now he's back home again.
He never seemed to take racing seriously when interviewed, more from his demeanour than anything, how wrong I was. The sheer courage, ability and determination he has shown since that first terrible accident have shown the true measure of the man, he really is a hero and role model anyone would be proud to emulate.
Alex Zanardi, I salute you and you have nothing but my admiration.

The poor guy. He’s an absolute hero to me.His haul of silverware and results don't come close to representing his motorsport potential, and yet is remarkable in his own right.
He was the highlight of the Paralympic games, and loved watching his amazing achievements.
