Hows Butcher?

Hear you on the Neate situation, but tell him from us just to calm it down a bit!
There were a lot of misty eyes around the team!!

Rory’s fine thankfully, he was shaken but undamaged. Never a good idea to drive after a big shunt so we offered to drive him back to ours to sleep it off before heading back to Scotland this morning but one of the Laser guys kindly drove him back home so he could get back to his family ASAP

Don’t worry, he gets it from us lot enough!

I guess there's two groups of guys who need a bit of praise:
1)Whoever welded the roll cage. Your work has been tested, and found to be good. Well done!
2)Whoever's trying to put the car back together in ~10 days. I do not envy your task. Good luck!

Glad he's ok and well done Wookie.

Is the car repairable?

Thanks chaps!

Yep Rory's car did a mega job at protecting him, that was a really nasty shunt into a solid wall, even before the barrel roll and it speaks volumes that Rory jumped out of it unscathed except for a few bruises on his legs.

As for whether the car is fixable or not, I'll be honest the damage to the shell looked pretty grim to me but I'm confident the team will find a way to get Rory back out for Croft. There are a few options, I think it depends on whether the damage is as bad as it looks or not.

I'm sure they can reappropriate the 3rd car car if required - it's not as if the current occupant has doing much with it (unless you count target practice on a BMW & Astra the last 2 meetings) hehegetmecoat

I saw something about Tingrams car having some "leg protection" stuff inside. I think it was carbon panels to stop legs flying about in an incident. Do you guys have similar? Any thoughts on if it's something that'd help?

Haha no one one is going to be taking anyone’s car! Not how it works with BTCC drives, it could only ever be a request.

Can’t say I’ve seen the leg protection in Tingram’s car! We don’t really have anything to speak of, it’s not mandated. I must admit it’s not a daft idea, I’ve still got scars on my legs from walloping the cage in that poxy Proton when I hit the tree

That one!

Weirdest thing about that was I woke up the next day and my left arm was black and blue. I thought ‘where the fk did that come from’

Watch the footage in slow motion and you’ll see it!

Did you ever get that clause in your contract about keeping a race winning car at the end of the year for your own garage? biggrin

Socially distanced autograph sessions .

They'll have to cut the numbers allowed by about 75% .

Constantly running off track at Copse to gain an unfair speed advantage perhaps?
Seems a bit unfair if that’s the case, everyone was doing it. Need to bring the gravel nearer the track.
