Just confirmed to nobodies surprise. Cook and Neal swapped around. Neal received a 0.7 second penalty.
As long as the penalty is as meaningless as that idiot drivers like Neal will always try stuff like that, nothing to lose and they don’t care if it means punting a fellow racer off

That last race was brilliant!

Agree about it being a better spectacle as it gets dark - cars look epic with the lights on heading toward the camera, the glowing discs look epic, not to mention the exhaust flames! Yeah it's going to be getting very dark I reckon at Brands in November - clocks will have gone forward by then too so it may actually be full-on night time. Hopefully they haven't scheduled it to finish at 4pm or something. Imagine if it goes down to the last race as the title decider, that'll be a hell of a watch in the dark!

Interesting how it only seems to be the Hondas, and only really the FK8s at that, which glow the discs.

One of them (Cammish iirc) actually had his front brakes engulfed in flames as they crossed the start/finish line mid way through the race.

Really rooting for Ingram now, but if Cammish or Sutton takes the title I won't be disappointed smile

Edited to add: Glad Thompson walked away. Never good to see a car on it's roof, then again I'd much rather crash like that than straight into a wall.

The fk8 have always done that several times they are glowing red specially at the title decider not really sure why as all the cars run the same basic brake set up. Do believe there is an option on brake pads the teams can use.
Even jake hill fk2 civic had the start of the brakes glowing.

I believe both Snetterton and brands are starting a lot earlier than normal to finish around the 4pm point but any red flags or race holds up will push the schedule into darkness.

Sorry but I have to disagree with the criticism of Sutton. The fact that he tries to win every race and doesn’t settle for points like Turkington does makes it far better to watch.
Sadly in a race championship, points aren't awarded for artistic impression or any other visual spectator reasons, its not Britains Got Talent, they are awarded for the position on the track at the checkered flag.

Nearly 40 years ago when I was under instruction, they always drummed into you, that being the fastest guy or most spectacular guy on track is not worth jack if you crash everytime you go out....

Many years ago they did night races.

Two meets, two big roll overs. Ok, maybe not directly attributable to any one driver, nevertheless if it carries on someone will get injured.

Wonder what happened to Turkington in that last race, there was contact but it didn't seem that hard. Not a good weekend.

From what I saw all the new model Civics had glowing brakes - compound choice / disc material?

Quite impressed with Cook today.

Plato would have had far more championships if he had driven like Turkington rather than Sutton. At the end of the day the aim is to win championships not races. If you can do both at the same time then great but Sutton was an idiot to go for that move.

Yeah sorry to Colin I was just reacting to it kicking off in front of me where the cars were lurching back towards my line. Just one of those things unfortunately

I haven’t been called up to the bus for a telling off so presumably that’s the way the stewards saw it too

Its ok Ollie youve just helped make the championship interesting, id call that a service!
Also Neate behaved himself today, have Motorbase told him to chill his beans a bit?

Yeah it’s not something any driver wants to be responsible for, I wouldn’t write Colin off just yet though

To be fair Andy was only really a naughty boy at Thruxton, Silverstone was the sort of stuff we all get tangled in from time to time, I think the criticism was a bit unfair

I don’t know if he was making a conscious effort but I know he was definitely more comfortable this weekend

Race three is scheduled for 4pm at Snetterton and 3.20 at Brands. Plan is more support races on Sat to free up Sunday space and earlier starts.

Also, only one BTCC practice session rather than two for the final two meetings.

At least she'll give Andy Neate something to aim at, leaving the rest of the field alone wink
