the safety car after every full course yellow is garbage though, everyone knows it including the commentators, they're convincing no-one by trotting out the party line about it being for safety each time.
I put it in the same bracket as the reverse grid draw in BTCC - it's a brazen attempt to make for more exciting and entertaining racing... but it does work!

At the end of the day this is Ratel's baby, a niche series, and he can play around with it for entertainment purposes without fear of FIA reprisals. Having grown completely bored of WEC this is my absolute favourite international motorsport watch these days.

Well, typically you don't have a small accident at Spa!

Pretty sure they'd be repaired, each car is a lot of money to just scrap, even if its only to sell on.

That's a good indication of the accessibility of the event compared to others, I've had a wander round that graveyard several times

Well this is quite a picture, it looks like the winning crew had quite a bit of luck at the end!

I think Porsche #Bamthor & Tandy were overdue some luck this season; everything that can go wrong, normally has. At last lady luck smiled down on them.

You could hear the noise on the onboards, it was quite horrendous! You could see that slick on the feed during the interviews too. Tandy said he had a lock up in to turn 8 and as he exited the noise started, he presumed a driveshaft had broken, then he guessed that the casing had been damaged, hence the leak.

Niederhauser closed up about 7 tenths with 3 or 4 laps to go but then fell back, seemingly due to the oil leaking from the #98.
