I like Sutton but thought his comments after the race were a bit odd. I understand that he's in with a shot at the championship and the Smiley isn't, but if nobody can get past him then that's not really Smiley's fault? Surely Sutton didn't expect him to just give up his own race to let the title contenders through?

And of course, well done Wookie!
What did Sutton say. I recorded the program but it stopped as soon as Wookie’s interview started.

Well done Ollie, first rate drive to take the win, soaking up the pressure like that, Morgan isn't exactly slow!

Tim Harvey was gushing over you haha!

Fantastic three races yesterday I thought, Wookies move for the lead in race 3 was just superb!

Congrats Wookie! A great race, and soaked up the pressure from Morgan very well.

It looked for a while if Butcher was going to make it into 2nd (would have been a great 1-2) - do you think team orders would have suggested letting Butcher through if he were to have made it to 2nd?

Here's to Brands, and some further great results smile

Great result Race 3.

A win off the front at Brands and a title challenge next year please - the Focus does seem to be a strong package now!!

Fantastic effort Ollie! Your launches off the start have been fantastic this year. Those 12 places you made in the 2nd race really put you in contention for race 3. When I saw you on the 2nd row I thought if you get another great launch you might be on for the lead, but that overtake round the outside was an even better result! I think your driving showed renewed confidence and it was great to see.

Not sure what Sutton was on about at the end, although I don't think he was expecting to be interviewed so he might have just had a brain fart on TV. As others have mentioned, I don't think Smiley did anything wrong and only raced as hard as Sutton does.

Ash would no doubt have just been saying what he said out of frustration from seeing the points get away from him. (and the series does have history of people moving aside to let the title race go unimpeded!)

I reckon the Focus is a title contender for next year, it seems to have come on leaps and bounds and in the right (2) pairs of hands, it looks as if it's not got any weaknesses.

Well done to Wookie again too obviously, the car isn't the only good thing in the equation!

Brilliant result for OJ! Shame Sutton got a bit over zealous in his overtake, he could/should have maintained himself a place or two in front of Colin instead of getting tangled up and losing positions... seems a bit of a theme. Another 'why is he there?' w/e for NH I see..... rolleyes

Along the lines of 'They were all ramming me and they let Turks sail on though' I think. Love his driving style but he like to throw the toys out sometimes!

I hope I'm wrong, but I had the impression he was implying that Smiley had baulked him because he's from the same part of the UK as Turkington.

Sorry all, phone has been going all day and I’ve had to fit work in too!!

Thanks again chaps!! Mega result, really happy although as a few of you guys noticed it was Race 2 that really gave me the chance

Have to say it felt like it was going to be one of those days when I was gliding towards the barrier on the first corner. It took me until Coram to even catch the medical car rofl

Oh there he is! Thought you’d dropped us now you’re a multiple race winner/championship contender/generally kind of a big deal!

Joking aside well done sir. From my armchair expert view I thought you were excellent; kept Morgan at bay despite a lot of pressure towards the end. Looked like a very tidy and composed drive.

Cheers thumbup

No team orders at Motorbase although we are a close team and if there’s a real need they would ask me and it’s up to me to decide.

Given the all round situation I don’t think they would have asked me, hypothetically if things were different and Rory was 2 points behind Turks for the overall championship they wouldn’t have needed to ask me

As much as I am a fan of Sutton, wasn't too impressed with his his post race interview, it was just tussling in the pack that he got involved in, he seemed to think it was deliberate, unless I am missing something?
Cheers thumbup

I haven’t watched the interview yet but... being diplomatic... the camera doesn’t catch everything that goes on, if what went on was consistent with my previous experiences then I can imagine Ash might have become moderately frustrated to the point of taking it personally...

Top marks for Dan Cam for the send too hehe

Nope you haven’t got rid of me yet hehe

Yeah Adam definitely had the pace on me towards the end. I like racing with him, we’ve had a couple of knocks before and he’s a hard racer but he’s fair and you can trust him not to divebomb from miles back and park it in your door

Again, from my driving-god expert armchair opinion, it looked like Smiley let Turkington through and then tried to go ultra defensive and block anyone and everyone so Turkington could get away, until he got punted off. If I am correct then I don’t know why he felt he needed to get involved and so I do think Sutton has a reason to complain.
