That’s disappointing. I really wanted to see him win the championship.

Disappointing news for sure.

Fair to assume its budget related as Camish appears to have departed on good terms.

Taking a step back maybe everyone took the stability of this team for granted but scratch under the surface and genuine questions can be asked. They were one of the more "stable" teams with 3 big sponsors (halfords, honda (you can debate either way, Honda have their name on their roof so they were getting something out of them) and Yuasa) and plenty of well established brands with smaller deals. Unlike some of the other teams whose sponsors are happy with just the chance to mingle on the pit with the drivers, TD's corporate sponsors want success and exposure. Taking this into account you would have to say they underperformed in recent years giving its sponsors poor value for money and less exposure.

They went from winning 4 drivers championships out of 6 to nothing in the the last 4 years, yes they were close but for the sponsors funding them its all about winning and getting to revel in that success and promote their brand of the back of it. For sure covid and honda leaving the UK impacted them, but if you were senior management in Yuasa / Castrol / Halfords you would have to be asking the question of am I backing the right team. In addition you would surely be asking what am I funding, is my sponsorship money being used to field the teams owners oldest son in his declining racing career at the expense of trophies, simple facts are that Matt's inconsistencies cost them this trophy many times.

Good point regarding Neal still being a shoe-in despite recent results... not being great... and presumably taking a nice wedge home with him for doing so rather than needing to find backing like Cammish sadly hasn't been able to.

Wonder if / how much of Cammish's budget went straight to Matt Neal as a driver wage?

Perhaps the lack of Plato either in the championship or in a competitive car has hurt TD's exposure too - lots of coverage when they were at each others throats at the pointy end of the grid, not nearly so much these days.

Bit of an assumption to think that Cammish was paying Neals wages don't you think? If he was bringing enough budget to the team to do that then he would still have a place surely?

Neal takes a wage from Rimstock for doing his day job, not for being a driver for his own race team.

Thats really a surprise to see Cammish leave Team Dynamics. I can only assume its budgetary related and thats from one of the more financially stable teams on the grid (or so it seems). If a top outfit like this is having financial issues leading to losing one of the best drivers field then it really is not a good sign.

Hope he ends up in another good ride somewhere.

I didn't assume, I said "wonder if..."

Thanks for that.

I wonder if that fact that Rimstocks haven’t produced any wheels for 12 months has anything to do with it. Don’t know if the company subsidised the race team at all.

I thought Matt/Steve sold the business a few years ago. I assumed he was still working there on an earnout

Matt resigned as a Director in Aug 2019, the other Neals a couple of years before that.

Sad to hear Dan Cam not in it this year, I really thought this year was going to be the big one. Money is on Butcher now in that Toyota. Why does it always get a bit weird on here with people looking up companies house and accounts/directors etc?

You can't really read anything from that to be fair

I think people look to get an insight but it's a bit like trying to determine the full service history of a car by looking at an MOT print out

Companies house info makes sense if you know what's going on, but it can easily be misinterpreted

There was a query about ownership - a quick google provides part of the answer.

To be fair, on the question of ownership you’d need to look at the shareholders, not the directors.
