Merry Christmas one and all.

Just sitting here, drinking a glass of Pomerol and watching the turkey cook, and googling my favourite old F1 cars. Funny how they stick in my mind more than drivers. I'll post some of my favourites below- please share yours and why.

1986 FW11- Power.

1989 F640- Just look at it!

1989 B189- so nimble, beautiful V8 racer against V10 and V12 monsters

Some of my favourites already posted - the Williams Honda FW11, Ferrari 640 and McLaren Honda MP4/4, so a more unusual one:

March 881.

Newey's first F1 car - amazingly capable and slippery.

Ferrari F1 87/88C.

Should have been a contender for a championship, but the MP4/4 came along and the rest is history.

Mercedes W11,
I wasn’t a big fan of the “black” silver arrows at first but it does look a real monster.

No wrong answers here hehe some great example above..

Loved the V10 era, Jaguar to me always had a great livery, and were the plucky midfield underdog.

Bt52 also from a bygone ground effect era, into the turbo with simple aero era..

Personal favourite

Always liked a 80/90s lotus, and this one saw the confirmation of an era defining superstar.[url][url]

Renault R25 - the last championship winning V10, and the Mild Seven livery is a personal favourite

Brawn BGP-001 - for the 'underdog' backstory

Man alive, that 881 is incredible. I don't think it got it's due credit at the time for the jump it was. Beautiful.

Proving he's always had a thing for a tightly packaged arse!

A game changer, if you consider it was racing against the MP4/4, Ferrari F1 87/88c and similar clunkers which relied on brute power over finesse.

Beautiful plus the sound!

I’ve seen and heard all of the cars in this list.
All stunning.

MP4/4,
What a car! I always preferred the look of the naturally aspirated cars- MP4/6 in particular. Looked so purposeful, and the sound!

I love the story about when the Jenson and the team turned up late at the second pre-season test late, went 1 sec faster than anyone else and realised what a car they had on their hands.

The early Jordan Hondas all looked great. Think this is the 1998.
