Hello DragHeads,

I was a bit surprised when I looked at the eurodragster.com post about the upcoming MSA season,
it seems UK P/ET is now running in an 8.50 to 11.99 bracket.

On one side I can see / guess where this is coming from : racers with a car that is tagged to 8.50 specs,
who want to be the "top dogs" in P/ET instead of the slow guys in SP/ET having to get off the line first, mostly,
only to be caught JUST before the stripe by the quicker car.

On the other side I think a 3,5 second gap between the fastest & slowest car could be more dangerous at top end,
with the closing speeds of both cars having a huge difference.

I do not think any of the "continental" tracks will change P/ET from 9.00 to 8.50, but I have doubts anyway
that lots of racers will go through the carnet ( and maybe quarantine ) hassle just for "sportsman racing abroad",
which is a sad perspective to me.

I don't believe the closing speeds between 8.99 and 8.50 will make much difference. Unlike in Super Pro when a 6.00 car is going a lot faster than an 8.99 one.

Your second point is I believe more relevant. A lot of Sportsman racers on both sides of the channel will possibly not be bothered with carnets etc and that will make the racing on all European tracks less fulfilling.
