Could not find a 101 E-type in the results but how good does this one look?

Quickest Gentlemen Drivers Pre-66 GT Cars (Alderslade /Jordan) AC Cobra Daytona Coupe: 2:50 gun.

Christian Pfessdorf drove a superb looking Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing (3:12) in the combined Woodcote Trophy & Stirling Moss Trophy race.

Eddie McGuire brought the Scarab Offenhauser to the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association and noted an impressive 2:59 laptime. Huge monoblock 2.5 fourpot looks majestic.

2:51.5 hot lap for the Briones / Horn Porsche 911 RSR.

2:28 McInerney Mosler MT900R: 1,000 kgs and 5.7 L LS1 V8 > what's not to like? - Roadcar is a favorite. Think half a million USD...

Last one of that beautiful Alfa Romeo TZ2 replica car. Kamm tail!

They are tiny compared to nowadays Porsche 911. Lava Orange 2 litre car.

There's no place to hide when things go pop...

More to come.

2:58 Sharknose in the Historic Touring Car Challenge.

3:15 2 litre Porsche 911 driven in the Six Hours Endurance show by S. Osborne / R. Smith / C. Ward.

2:57 Lotus Elan 26R driven by M. Eyears / E. Morris / Gregor Fisken.

2:50 Jack bros Chevron B8. This has the be one of my favorite sportscars ever.

3:17 Lotus 11 by G. Peeters / F. Debrae. Not the quickest. A good car in the hands of a master can give E-types and Astons a hard time at the Spa track.

Rettenmaier Alfa Romeo P3 (3:30) in all its glory.

These cars are quite light, think 680 - 750 kgs. Power is adequate and beauty is complementary. Wheels at the corners would make for a perfect drivers car.

Classic dark blood red and quadrifoglio sign.

3:06 Cooper Maserati T51 driven by Steven Jobstl. Nuff to see here!

2:55 Ferrari 246 Dino driven by Richard Wilson ready for qualification laps.

I like to think this is a Riley as entered in the Pre-War Sports Cars race. Think 4 minute laptimes.

Prettiest car in the grid? I like to think so. — Oliver Bryant & Andrew Robertson Smith.

On a smaller note: classic cars show how small cars used to be compared to today's giants...

Quickest Gentlemen Drivers Pre-66 GT Cars (Alderslade /Jordan) AC Cobra Daytona Coupe: 2:50 gun.

DHG Racing Lola T70 Mk3B.

Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 driven by Mathai: 2:28 secs was among the slowest cars in the Masters Endurance Legends race!

Historic Formula Junior:

Legendary Cooper Maserati T51 driven by Stephan Jobstl. The T51 Climax carried Jack Brabham to the first-ever rear-engined Formula 1 Drivers World Championship in 1959.

The T51 started with the 2.5-litre 4-cylinder Coventry Climax engine which Cooper and Lotus had commissioned. In total 8 different engines were used for competition. Maserati supplied either a 1.5 or 2.5 litre engine. Dunno what's in here.

Ace AC Cobra in striking gold.

L. Jaspers Jaguar E-type almost ready for a 2 hours stint in the Gentlemen Drivers Pre-66 GT race.

Always a fun sight to see a drivers change, albeit in qualification circumstances.

Maserati 250F: awesome technology. One of 26...

I have no idea what the brand is but it does look inviting with all the switches and dials. A zillion miles away from today's touch screens. Please, let me feel stuff!

Look at the steel wire! There's your safety at Spa Francorchamps. Taped front lens is to avoid glass spray on the track.

The obvious choice for racing cars are Weber Bolognas. Not so sure on road cars: Webers are great at top revs and consumption but in the lower regions you'd really want a more docile setup.

Maserati 26M - thx Joe Twyman - has gorgeous details. How clever does this look...? A shame a pack of Maserati were in the sun which made it hard to make decent snaps.

This looks like one of the 48 Maserati A6GCS/53 Fantuzzi spyders built in 1953. Twin sparkplug 2 litre straight six with 170 ps, 740 kgs, and active in 1953 to 1961. More details here http://tech-racingcars.wikidot.com/printer--friend...

Purposefulness combined with sheer elegance. I'd have a replica of this one please.

Hi James Cottingham cheers for bringing this insanely good looker to Spa6 last October. Is this a Lister Jag opened up? > I'll post the answer.

Another Shelby Daytona Coupe. Quite a few at Spa6 this edition. Most should be continuations: as if I care...

And there's another one, ready to go out there.

Spa 6 paddocklife is the gift that keeps on giving:

Light and compact Escort makes for a perfect classic track tool. Excpect well under 3 mins laptimes with 250 brake on tap.

A bit more grunt from this 289 CID 4.7 litre Ford powered Shelby Daytona Coupe. Phat rubber galore.

Loads of Ford GT40 hidden in the many pit boxes. Also equipped with a 289 Ford but with such a sleek body laptimes shift to 2.45!

Right up my street is this family hack resting from a hot lap.

Agile 2 litre Porsche 911 - or 901 - ready for another qualification try. Driver change is a great sight and sound.

Martin Stretton never fails to amaze with his immaculate Cobra. Rene Arnoux had a go too.

Flaming 3:12 M. Rossi di Montelera Porsche 911 2 litre.

Andrew Smith and Olly Bryant choose a superb weapon to attack the track.

Bates bros RSR arse.

I race against the owner of the Escort and the owner of the E type in historic saloons (they have different cars for that obviously). The E type is absolutely mint, and painted in a modern Skoda grey, which really suits it - in the flesh it’s amazing!

Funky Cobra looking ready for action. No problemo with a 420 brake 4.7 litre / 289 Cid OHV V8.

Bryant family Camaro ready to roll. No match for the quick 90s Jap guns but quite a sight and sound. - The ex-Mike Bell Escort in Canary Yellow. Is that Jon Minshaw on the left?

OSCA MT4 (Maserati Tipo 4 cilindri or Fiat 1.5 litre) hidden in the back of the pit box. Tiny!

Airflow plumbing in the super nice looking Jag E-type.

Nuff to see here. Liking the Monkey Suzuki!

Everyone loves Ford Capri. Nice orange V6 makes a great classic track weapon.

Fab E-type Jaguar is a more expensive toy to attack Spa Francorchamps.

No idea what this is but it looks like bags of fun.

Mk1 Escort looks more familial to race in. I know I would!

Quite a challenge to race in this!

Pit box scene: as if you are at your local garage but with better machinery.

The Bryant family brought this lovely 70s Chevy Camaro to the tracks.
