I see Chris Harris is competing in a Mk2, went off yesterday but no damage.
I didn't realise this was a 5 day event, proper stuff! Would love to do it someday!
Back in, but they slept in the service car last night it would appear. Presumably stuck due to blocked roads etc and couldn’t reach the hotel.I didn't realise this was a 5 day event, proper stuff! Would love to do it someday!
Saw messages last night saying loads of people, competitors, marshals etc stuck in the stages to we’ll past midnight. Delayed start today.

If anyone can sort it, then these organisers can. They did it in 2010, and again in 2011 when snow hit. Without knowing which roads are affected, they could can the whole/most of the day, and restart in Wales on Sunday....
Aye, Colin and his team have amazing resilience. The crews in Langholm managed to get out early this morning. I see Chris Harris had to sleep in the car!
I was marshalling on Chirdonhead last night, the weather was horrendous by the time the last car passed us and the final stage was only just starting at that point! Can only just imagine how bad it was.
I'm on Ae today but currently waiting in Dumfries to see what's happening, not looking promising so I suspect they'll focus on getting everyone in to Wales safely and restart tomorrow.

Just pinched this from the Ilkley and District Facebook page, I'm sure Mark Dickenson wont mind me sharing.
It gives some idea what the organisors were up against last night.

Sorry for the lateness of this.
It started so well and ended up been one of those epics that we don't want to repeat very often.
The day was going well, we had carried out car 0 for both runs of bewshaugh stage and then waited at the end of the stage to manage all the service crews to ensure they parked in a safe manner in the public road.
It then started to snow very heavily and the wind picked up to very strong.
Within 30 mins it had all changed out in the stage and the decision was made to cancel the days proceedings, we were asked to make our way to the start to then go in and close the stage as the sweeper was in the previous stage sorting out issues in that one.
The reason it was cancelled was due to the high winds and potential of trees falling due to them.
We went into the stage and got less than mile in to be met by 2 fallen trees over the track.
Turned around and a rethink was needed.
Met up with the CofC and we came up with a plan to get into the stage at various points to sweep the stage to ensure tit was clear of competitors, marshals and spectators.
Which we did, but was difficult to say the least, we were ably assisted by lake 3 recovery.
We found several competitors off, we managed to get them going and out of the stage as well as the marshals which proved hard in the now thick snow.
We met the C of C to then form a battle plan to get a stage commander out of his stage. We started this operation around 20.30 and we had to call it off at 4.00 am as we just couldn't get anywhere near him with the fallen trees everywhere. SO he was told to bed down for the night and we would be with him in the morning.
The radio controller was also stuck at the top of the hill and he was bedding down for the night as we couldn't get him out either(controller was my dad).
We finally got back to our hotel and in the bed at 5am.
All I can say is that was a very tough day for me and the small team with me trying to get the last few people out of kielder.

Managed 4 stages first two days, first day was fine, second was good too but getting cold, we left before doing any dark stages as snow was coming in on ours, so we headed back, ready to do a couple in Scotland today, but after reading stuff thought it unlikely,
Welcome lie in this morning in a ste hotel in Carlisle, it (rads did not work and water was lukewarm ffs), became obvious before announcement that today was going to be binned and a reset tomorrow. So we headed home.
Good event, quality better than usual but a bit of a boring Escort fest to be honest. but top boys are truly on it and worth the money alone. Fair play to marshals and everyone we met were very friendly and I so wish all rallying could be like this at club level instead of now being largely behind close doors. I know why but it is a shame.

I think the mentioned stage commander was our one yesterday, he posted up today saying that he became stranded and the recovery couldn't get to him. The Forestry Commission were heading in to rescue him when he posted up.It gives some idea what the organisors were up against last night.

The weather station local to us recorded 98 mph winds last night, about 9pm it was all I could do to stand up!
A same for everyone concerned but safety first and all that-shame as it’s been a beautiful (of cold) day here today.
Haven’t had a chance to catch up with next door yet, he Marshalls every year so will get the crack later.

Price disappointed with his time, "thrown it all away" ........ only took 39secs out of leader

Can't see Osian taking 1.46 out of Barrett somehow , hope he does but it's a tall order . Certainly been full of drama this year .
And yet more dramaboth Barret and Pryce out now! Barret rolled, Pryce knocked a wheel off.
Ryan Champion and Chris Thorley leading now..... in a 911 !! not an Escort!
A Yorkshire win with a bit of luck!

Also.....there's a distinct possibility of Ryan Champion and Chris Thorley winning the rally without setting any fastest stage times. both Barret and Pryce out now! Barret rolled, Pryce knocked a wheel off.

The same happened on Mull this year - Daniel Harper & Chris Campbell won without setting any fastest stage times.
Just goes to show (something......hares / tortoises.....)
