A lot of bumping and banging for the first race of the day.

What was Cook thinking going from Pole ,driving Cammish into the pitwall ?

Of course ,Cammish could have slammed the brakes on , and have half the field crash into his rear !

Poor driving from Cook in my opinion .

You make it sound like he drove him into the wall side to side. If you get a poor start it's normal to move over to cover the other car. It was a slight misjudgement on whether Cammish was overlapping. Once the slight contact was made at the rear of Cooks car that then turned his car even more in the same direction. Cammish wouldn't need to "slam" the brakes on to avoid it either.

First Btcc meeting I’ve been to since watching Mansell in a Mondeo at Donnington…in 1998.

Took my lad for his first motorsport experience both of us enjoyed it, from a spectator point of view the National Circuit worked well, sat at Luffield so got to see plenty of action and could watch the big screen. The open pit lane was good if busy, and with Plato still racing had a link to my past experience!

Took my two Adult boys yesterday who both behaved like children.... Cracking days racing and there were plenty of people in the grandstands!!!

For all the moaning about using the National circuit, it really works well. Each set of corners brings jeopardy to each race and with an under 60sec lap there is action all through the races to watch.

The Porsche cup was a good race, only bettered by the Ginneta GT4's.

Touring cars as usual were brilliant...... made all the better by The Wookie's ability to keep half the field behind him in the last race. Well done!!

We also had a great day, spent the morning at Copse then infield Becketts, then into the open put lane, then PM in the stands on Woodcote where you could also see the screen and the end of the Wellington straight.

They haven't done anything since our last visit a decade ago to ease the site exit issues, some simple roped lanes on the parking areas would have stopped the chaos of a free for all.

Good day out though to end the summer for us.

Just caught up with all the action from yesterday. It’s not my favourite circuit but I really enjoyed it. It’s certainly going to make Brands an exciting afternoon being so close in the championship!

Enjoyed watching Wookie get stuck in, great stuff mate clap

And a shout out too to DanCam for being a proper team player for Ash, can’t be easy so fair play thumbup

After the nightmare getting out of there after the GP a few years ago we left after the second Btcc race and got home in time to watch the third (lad was about raced out by then) The parking getting in wasn’t very good, took longer than for the GP. The Stewards do a vanishing act when really needed. Will definitely take a packup next time as the food although very efficient serving, was pretty dear. Saved about £20 by taking some drinks though.

Ash Sutton really is good isn't he? Championship contender / winner in the Subaru, Infiniti and now a Ford with his teammates pretty much nowhere near him, FWD or RWD it matters not seemingly.

Came from Scotland for the weekend at Silverstone. First time spectating - had previously been with Fiestas helping out - the parking exit on Sunday was the worst I’ve seen at any circuit.

Queues of people waiting then just randoms driving down the side of the queue and being immediately directed out by the steward when they arrived at the front. I found that strange.

Yep, he is. Not only massively talented but works his bks off all weekend and understands the dynamics of the car. It's not hard to see why he's multiple champion.

For us to all struggle like we did for the first half of the year and for him to be anywhere near the front in the championship standings, let alone be leading it at this stage, is staggering.

Random question...
Is it just F1 that no longer has grid girls?

We're going to try and get to a couple of events next year, my brother has young kids so more than 2 hours from Midlands is a challenge - still a few rounds that we can do though, Donnington, Silverstone and Oulton.

I can never understand why they use the National layout. It’s abysmal.
Yep waste of a weekend on the calendar using this crappy little circuit - it’s as bad to race on as it is to watch on tv. Best national race series on worst circuit.
Totally agree, it was awful to watch.

Pretty much, they thought they'd do equality a favour by making a few jealous munters happy in the name of sexism by putting them out of a job. Seems fair...

Thought so, seemed strange to see someone I met recently stood on the grid holding a placard laugh
