Haven't seen anything about that (probably because I've stopped watching and unfollowed anything to do with the circus). Sounds like they're following the AFL system (unsurprising as their target market is clearly football fans!)
The AFL season is a home & away league, which then switches to a knockout final series for the top 8 teams in the league
Yeah, there was a bit of “like all other sports in Australia” going on. League, and the football (soccer) do the same thing (I think). The Ice Hockey does too, although I suspect that wasn’t on their radar! The AFL season is a home & away league, which then switches to a knockout final series for the top 8 teams in the league
So now it becomes a stage managed “finals” to try and keep the fans engaged.

Not surprising tbh. T8/Red Bull want to be in the most competitive package and going forward that aint gonna be in the Camaro.
It's not even just being competitive, look at Red Bull and Ford's involvement elsewhere in motorsport now including the F1 engine program. I'd be very surprised if the switch to Mustang's wasn't pushed by RB with 888 being given the option of keep the sponsorship and go Ford or lose it and stay CamaroGlobalRacer said:
Mine automatically renewed but if you click the Join button on the channel homepage it should give you the sign up option.
Ah, I've just realised why. I was on holiday abroad and that must have been a Geolocked area so there was no Join button.Back to the UK and it works. Thanks

However, it renewed my 2021 Superview so I can only see races from that year.
I've emailed them.

Toyota GR Supra revealed yesterday.

Looks pretty good in my eyes, a good mix of the road car and the original Supra concept car (FT-1).
Hopefully its competitive straight out of the box in 2026 with WAU and BJR.

Purely anecdotal... given my circle is 50% fellow ex drivers and other contacts from my past in motorsport, and I don't know any who still follow this series. There is no doubt the organisers decided years ago that money was more important than good racing.
I'm the other way around. Many people I know who didn't follow the series before have started to over the last couple of years. Almost without exception they are under 30. Perhaps it's the fan base changing rather than dropping? They keep pushing for more and more s
t street circuits and less permanent tracks, which has a massive impact on club level motorsport, but again suits the money makers who now ru(i)n the sport!Anyone else enjoying the buildup for the great race.

For decades (from the late 70s through to the early 2000s) I would be glued to the TV for the entire Bathurst weekend. It was a highlight of the year, usually spent with a group of friends.
We even drove across one year to watch it live (similar to driving from London to Cairo for a race)
This year I only realised yesterday that it is on this weekend.
I Watched a 10 hour replay of yesterdays "action" last night... in about 15 minutes of fast forwarding.
They have lost virtually the entire traditional audience (motorsport enthusiasts) in their desperate efforts to attract the football fans instead. I guess they aren't bothered, money is all that matters.
I won't be watching live, I'd rather watch replays of the old races where there were different cars, different classes, and far more interesting.
ETA, apologies, I just looked back at the thread and noticed that I've said the same thing several times over the past few years!
