The Valkyrie looks to be miles off the pace.
To be expected really, they've a mountain to climb, but look at Alpine. They were poor at the beginning of last season, but challenging for podiums by the end.
Of course, we're going to see a slump in entries sometime - There is no way manufacturers will sustain programmes where they're coming 12th or lower indefinitely.

Indeed. Factory entries are always going to be boom or bust. Need a few more private entries to sell some cars to make it more worthwhile.Of course, we're going to see a slump in entries sometime - There is no way manufacturers will sustain programmes where they're coming 12th or lower indefinitely....

It is also not using much in terms of hybrid is it? Is it not similar to the Glick in that it simply uses ICE only? Perhaps a disadvantage. But they are not that far off.
It's the only non hybrid on the grid and they're struggling for pace out of slow corners without the instant power hit.marcosgt said:
Is that a Hybrid issue, though? I thought there were minimum speeds at which hybrid power could be deployed?

PS Love the Rexy braces
118mph now BUT it's not turbocharged either, leading to a smaller power band and worse fuel economy. Fine margins and it's at a disadvantage everywhere except flat out.M

They will hopefully get there but I think a NA V12 is going to be an uphill battle.
Only just got around to watching the last couple of hours from Sebring
Great result for PPM, absolutely flawless race, by the team, and drivers
Others had pace, but made mistakes, and you didn’t need much to rule you out for the win
Hindhaugh repeated at least 3 times that PPM were following on from their 1-2 at Quatar, first two times he said it was a 1.2,3 (which of course it was, but not for PPM!)
Appreciate they make errors now and again, but surely someone in the team should have told him he was talking rubbish, over and again

Not a very exciting race this year.
Porsche were ahead for a large chunk of it, but never out of reach (party thanks to IMSA's strategic use of full course cautions).
As I'm not a Porsche fanboy, I didn't find it a very exciting or dramatic race this year, let's hope that some of the other teams are on the pace when they hit California.

At one point he was talking about tyres with a man from Michelin and within a sentence he told us he had a Porsche and, oh yes, it's a 911 - If you watch any sportscar racing, he'll do it at least once in every race and it gets old after a while.
It is my only quibble, though, he does know his stuff usually.

That's my only quibble with Hindhaugh, he's so biased towards Porsche - If a Porsche is in the lead, he froths, if it's in 19th place, but closing on 18th by 1/100th of a second a lap, he'll froth. If it gets passed, he somehow doesn't notice it for a couple of laps!

Time will tell - I hope they get near the pace by Spa, but at least, based on Sebring, reliability is decent already. They will hopefully get there but I think a NA V12 is going to be an uphill battle.
