Champ Cars at Brands Hatch
Discussion
Yeah the noise issue is ridiculous. The locals even complain when we are instructing up there on the Indy Circuit in relatively quite Audi TT! It's like - excuse me, the circuit was there before those houses were even built! (in all fairness though, it's the tyre squel they complain about - but still)
Also apparantly (from what i heard in the Champ Car post race conference) they will use the GP circuit next year as absolutely everyone complained about the shortness of the circuit - causing problems with overtaking - or better said lack of possible ovcer-taking places.

Great piece of news that Nick thanks, just hope it´s true.
I went to the race here in Germany, brilliant atmos and loads of overtaking, also not a dry eye amongst the 70,000 spectators as Zanardi completed his laps from two years ago.
If they do use the F1 circuit at Brands that race will definately be on my things to do and places to go list in 2004

I suppose its no different to those living near Gatwick or Heathrow complaining about aircraft noise.
Personally I feel that only those who lived any where near a noise source before the source existed should have any right to complain about the noise.
I wouldn't buy a house at the end of a runway at say Marston, because there is the possibility use of the airport may intensify.
Seems to me that people buy these houses cheaply because of noise pollution, and then want to put an end to the noise source!
