"COO was fitted with Ford's 'X pack'
- Bigger carb & uprated valves take bhp from 138>170bhp
- Limited Slip Differential
- Ventilated disc brakes with cooling slots
- Granada Calipers
- 'Spa' type fiberglass wheel arch extensions
- 7.5x13" lightweight RS wheels fitted with 225/60 tyres
- 1" lower ride height derived from gas filled struts and rear dampers, and stiffer springs front & rear.
- Anti-dive kit to keep the car stable under heavy braking
- Front air dam
- Rear spoiler"
"I've found the performance figures for 'COO' from Autocar magazine dated 1st December 1979. (Standard 3.0S in brackets)
Top speed 128 mph (118mph)
0-60mph 7.7 secs (8.6 secs)
Standing 1/4 mile 16.1 secs @ 87mph (16.6 secs @ 83mph)
Fuel consumption 17.7 mpg (19.5 mpg) hard driving!
Not lightning by today's standard's, but when your average car was a Morris Marina, this was quick....."

Grant,
I assume you've got all the 'Gold Portfolio', 'Performance Portfolio' etc books. Not sure what if any background stuff he may have, but back in the 90's I was involved in the making of 'Capri the legend' video and the producer was a guy caller Jamie Langton, was a producer for the Met Office back then, maybe worth a bit of a google about.
