First off, thanks so much to the OP - this is probably the most useful thread I've ever seen on any forum, well - for a race car nut like me.

I was at Silverstone last weekend for the Le Mans series meet and there were several M1s in the CER race. Fantastic looking and one in particular (by far the fastest of) them had an awesome engine note, best of the event to my ears. I'll try to upload some of the video I took later.

In the meantime any race saloon, hillclimb and/or BMW fans (you may spot some bias here!) might want to check out the following links.

is of a Dutch Supercar ex ETTC 320 is staggering as much for the number of overtaking moves he makes as for the pace it shows race saloons can make. Drives past over a dozen cars including some really fast stuff in just a lap or so.

The rest are a few of the many videos of George Plasa's Judd F1 engined BMW M3. There are lots around but I included some with in-car views and others from outside, including in the rain. It's wrth getting past the music in the 1st minute of one for the clips and engine sounds later. Just awesome; must be the best ever incarnation of an M3 . .
