Sorry if this is a repost. Great stuff and I was there! Drove down from Coventry with a friend in his Triumph Vitesse, very early departure and then tried not to fall asleep on the South Bank. Well remember the GT 40 off at Clearways and the Chaparral puncture, which was obvious right in front of us as he fought for control. Also remember looking down into the open sports cars at bottom bend, looking from the banking above and being amazed by the mass of foam padding tied onto anything that would hold it, in a very primitive protection from g-forces. You could see the drivers legs disappear into the padding as they turned left. Then a drive home up through London to the M1, no maps, certainly no sat nav! Surprised we are not still somewhere on the South Circular. Somewhere I suspect I still have the programme.

I have the yearbook from 1997 and it shows all the other teams with their big transporters and these guys with their 406 on the back of a trailer behind the family car. A true independant team.
