It's scary to think people wouldn't know green flashing lights were for doctors.

At the very least, you'd think a road user would guess it was some sort of emergency and happily give way.

Anyone here with a white Kia 4x4 with the number plate 'R26 ***'?

Great fun at A835 on Sunday morning; I was in the Porsche.

I'll be up in Achriesgill near Kinlochbervie for two weeks from Saturday, so if anyone is passing through that way (just off the NC500 route), give me a shout - the kettle will be on and I'm always up for a little run out!

Ooooh. So tempting...

Enjoy. I hope the weather up there is better than it has been down my way this week. Diabolical is the only word.

When can we expect the vid? smile

Thought this thread may be the best place for a quick bit of advice.

Doing the NC500 this September and I'm considering including Skye as part of the trip. Are the roads/scenery worth the detour across the bridge or am I best to stick to the mainland? Will be travelling from Fort William and aiming to get to hotel in Laide by the end of the day.

The roads are great and the views are worth it.

Have a look at my pics on Page 151 and judge for yourself. smile

The one after the wooden 'train' is from the viewpoint approaching Kyle of Lochalsh.
Turn around and you'll see this.

Subsequent one are all on Skye.

Personally I think this is the best and most interesting way to get to or from the island.

Unlike the bridge it's not free but the compensation is drive over the Mam Ratagan pass.
Great view across Loch Duich to the Five Sisters from the viewpoint here.

I agree... great views from the top. The only thing you'll miss going that way is this (so it depends how much you like castles!)

Given the likely route to reach his stop over point...

Baldrick has a cunning plan. wink

If he goes over on the ferry and returns via the bridge, instead of turning left onto the A890 it's only a short 3 mile detour to reach the castle - https://goo.gl/maps/rpTZp1RSZ4p
