I heard about this on the radio this morning and can't find a thread about it.

I can only assume there's a lot that isn't being reported as the entire thing sounds so damned bizarre - I literally cannot understand how it could take place?

Happened at least two other times that I can remember.

One in Doncaster the female 'rapist' pretended to be male and insisted that the lights were out when they had sex. She then proceeded to strap on an er strap on.

The judge made the comment " you lost your virginity to apiece of plastic" which is why I remember it.

It's a bit 'Boys Don't Cry' minus one of them being raped and executed by rednecks.

I read the story yesterday, today and then again today and still dont understand it!

So she has a relationship with a person who only wears a full mask for over two years and doesnt realise its her friend in a mask!!

Then they get it on many times and still she doesnt realise its her friend in a mask.

Then one day it suddenly dawns on her that its her friend wearing a mask and a ahheemmm 'gentlemens appendige'

The whole thing seems completely impossible, I still cant understand it even though I think Ive just explained it.

Exactly. I'm not trying to make a "funny" post because it isn't funny - I literally just cannot wrap my head around it based off what I've read.

Unless there are lots of mind altering drugs being plyed here I just have no way in hell in seeing how there is not reasonable doubt.

I am 100% sure that there is more to this than is being said (and I am not talking about a 12" black Mamba).

I am going with miss strapon having tried to finish it or similar.

I read it, I still can't work it out.

So there was a man and a woman and the woman pretended to be a man and fked the other woman with a bright pink strap on with black straps and the other woman didn't notice... is that what happened?

As I understand it.

The other woman looked like a man.

When it came down to jiggy jiggy time - a mask was used on our protagonist - so she couldn't tell that her partner ( when in the buff ) was a woman.

Hence not noticing the "belt and braces" for the appendage.

I think that's it....

Still odd though.

The complainant (CP) was befriended by a 'male' named 'Kye' on Facebook.

Kye is really Gayle Newland.

The CP communicates with 'Kye' on Facebook and on the telephone, forming a relationship.

Newland becomes friends with the complainant 'in real life', claiming to be a friend of 'Kye'.

The CP is unable to detect 'Kye' and Newland have the same voice.

'Kye' arranges to have sex with the complainant in specific circumstances i.e. at a hotel with a blindfold and a mask and then makes an excuse to leave quickly after.

This repeated but with 'kye' eventually going to the CP's flat where Newland was discovered to be 'Kye'.

An odd one for sure, but the CPS have concluded there is sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction.

There could be CCTV at the hotel showing someone looking remarkably like Newland. Did Newland use her car to get there, is this on CCTV with the registration plates etc?

The part I really don't understand is the thought process that led to deciding to report the 'crime' to the police. Wouldn't you just try to forget the whole sorry episode and hope your mates never found out what had happened? Having the details published in the Daily Mail for your friends and family to read must be mortifying.

The complainant isn't named. Her name cannot be, and never can be reported in the press, nor anything published which is likely to lead to her being identified.

Her family / friends are probably aware of the matter since it's unusual to be in Crown Court as the victim of a series of serious sexual offences.

Mate of mine had a press cutting about a similar case stuck on his student bedroom door in c.1992, except in this case the relationship had gone on for something like a year.

The article referred to - and it was this that amused my friend so much - the male impersonator using "some kind of implement" as a penis substitute.

I've read this and still don't understand what the crime is. What's the court case over? She consented to sex didn't she? I'm sure I've had hot dogs that contained no real meat but I didn't take them to court over it.
