Monza gp

We are planning a trip to Monza in September for the GP and we were going to fly down. Since owning the Mustang I find the urge to express it's GT credentials and make it a driving trip.

Are there any must drive roads I should be considering on the way there?

For the route back I am considering the coast road, to Canne then North via the Route Napoleon.

Lake Garda is worth seeing, but not really worth driving. Traffic can be terrible on the West side especially on holidays.

Lake Como or Switzerland is better!
