Bristol / Wales roadtrip - advice needed please!
Discussion
Hi there,
My cousin and I are hiring a Caterham and Morgan for a couple of days later this month. Pick up is in Bristol, so we naturally thought we would head to Wales and try to have some sensible fun with the cars.
Can anyone save me a lot of time and hassle and suggest a good route and even better, some places to eat and sleep along the way?
This is such a helpful place, I hope you don't mind me asking
Thanks in advance.

Bristol to Bala, 174 miles
Bala to Bristol via Evo Triangle, 243 miles
Apart from a brief spell on the dull Heads Of The Valleys road, these would certainly keep you entertained.

Here are a few bits I can add from a reply I put up a while back (for the North Wales part of your run)
This loop is my default route and gets some good roads in (some duplicated roads on the run back, but they are good!:

Plenty of other roads off the above route, not sure on your time constraints though.
A few cafes too along the above route that will feed and water you:
Llyn Brenig on the East leg of the EVO
Riverside Chocolate House,
National White Water Centre,
Conway Falls, and
Pont Yr Afon Gam on the fantastic B4391 (Opens at 10:00, March to October only)
If I stop over it's at the Princes Arms in Trefriw, great food and a parking space below each room, as all the rooms are front facing out to the river conway.
Will be busy in the mornings (post 08:00), drive safe, plenty will be out doing what you are doing.
