I need to go from Oulton Park to Lincoln next week. Sadly my UK geography knowledge ends once you get north of Birmingham.

I'll be in my mk1 MX5, so want to avoid big A-roads and stick to fun, scenic and quiet B-roads as much as I can. Nothing too badly surfaced though - it's a track car on silly coilovers.

I'll be slightly short of time so don't want to make the journey too much longer than it needs to be, either.

Does this look about right, or could it be improved on?

It's the route I take from Chesterfield via Lincoln to Cadwell Park and sometimes use to get to Oulton Park but you'll be unlikely to find well surfaced B roads in Derbyshire so I'd advise taking a cushion or two.

First off apologies I'm using my phone so am missing out on some functionality

Secondly your route looks good, but.....

Do you remember the iconic magazine Mclaren F1 shot from back in the day?
It was taken at the chapel at Allgreave just to the west of Flash village

Probably taken with good reason as the roads are ace

Sorry again for phone but I'd suggest tweaking your route as folllows:

Allgreave-Flash-Longnor (nice cafe) - Crowdecote hairpins

From top of Crowdecote take first right to cross Ashbourne road at Parsley Hay and continue east via Youlgreave

Cheers

Edit : there's prob 100m of proper nasty surface half way between Allgreave and Flash but the rest is decent. It would be a hoot in an mx-5
