They're closing the northbound bit of the A217 between Tattenham Way and Mad Mile next week - all week.

Digging it up again for waterman repairs - didn't they just fit a brand new waterman in there last year? I guess we can at least be thankful they're doing this in school holidays.

Looking at the diversion map it's going to be chaos! https://www.waterplc.com/userfiles/file/190326-A21...

TRAVEL INFORMATION - From Monday 8th to Sunday 14th April.
SES Water have emergency work being carried out on the northbound carriageway of the A217 between Reigate Road and Fir Tree Road to carry out a vital repair to a water main near Magnolia Drive. The closure starts at the junction of Tattenham Way, and all northbound residential slip roads will be closed. Diversion map below and is also available via www.seswater.co.uk

It's also closed on Saturday 6th at the mad mile I believe while they dig a hole for gas I think ,up at the Belmont roundabout

where they've been working for a few weeks.

The cones and barriers didn't arrive till last night.

They've used proper concrete barriers on some of the side roads to prevent the "entitled" who don't think a closure

applies to them and move a few cones to gain access to wherever.

Don't bother attempting short cuts through Nork ,Nork Way ,Green Curve and Hillside all jammed with people trying it

and just getting stuck as parked cars prevent free flow for 2 way traffic.

Wouldn't surprised if it was delayed by a couple days then. Did they start wok yesterday or not? It's also been properly raining all day which they'll probably use as another excuse!

No.....no work carried out at all yesterday.

Walked past earlier ,Murphy blokes digging road ,the SSE water people sitting in van waiting for hole to be dug.

There is big arc lights next to the works ,so looks like they will be working at night too.

Far enough away from me not to keep me awake.
