Good Driving Roads in the UK - Mapped on Google Maps
Discussion
You’ve got one road in The Yorkshire Dales, and it’s the worst one.
Here’s some routes with better roads.

Driven over them in regular cars without issue. The comment that the road mentioned is prone to flooding is misleading in my opinion as it's only in extreme conditions, it was even clear in the cloudburst conditions that later caused the Ure to flood.
The point I was making that roads that someone in a 'normal' car would find interesting could be a nightmare for someone in say a Lambo. People found that on the PH event last year. Equally a road that a sports /supercar finds a good driving road could to others be as boring as hell.
Either people do a bit of homework on the area they are heading towards, bearing in mind the vehicle, prevailing weather or they make appropriate decisions and adapt and accept what they get when they get there. For example someone could suggest good roads in the highlands only for another to complain that they got stuck as they'd headed out when snow forecast. You'd never get HardKnott or Wrynose recommended for example, even ignoring the weather issue.
If that sort of sanitisation of recommendations is necessary then I'm out.
I agree that drivers themselves should decide if it's a good idea to drive on country roads depending on the weather. My comment was just a general suggestion, as not everyone has experience in every road here mapped. Hi all,
Since I got my 981 Boxster, I have an urge to drive more in country roads. Living in London, there are not many empty roads nearby to enjoy so I generally use weekends to find new nice country roads.

A few years back (before I decided I'd had enough of anti-car London and sadick 'part & parcel' I did this drive based on composites of recommendations from this forum.
Admittedly I got lost on the way which was quite a treat as I ended up taking a number of fun country barnstorming roads and ended up at a spot for lunch with great views.
Potters Bar to Chipping Ongar and back
Similar area to Mr_Megalomaniac's route, I also scrabbled together this one from other recommendations on here. 90 mile route from north east London into Hertfordshire and Essex:

A couple of good roads in Wales I've done recently..

Thanks, I've added those routes to the map. There are some overlapping roads with the existing routes but I think it's fine as they have some unique roads as well.https://goo.gl/maps/LAJQf64oqgJu3opf7

Good job kusuka, I'm glad you have done this. Are you after purely the fast roads with good sightlines or do narrower roads that need slower cornering qualify (so long as it's fun)? Cornwall has lots of the latter.
Cheers, I think any road as long as fun should qualify. Again, this is a community approach, I'm just trying to help.elpichichi said:

Heres a good one in South Wales. Some nice open sectioned with a few more technical parts. Also if you are lucky you'll spot magazines road testing on the B4560.

Here, s a nice loop of the North York Moors, Start in Malton, great place to stay the night before, over the moors to Stokesley, nice pit stop, fuel and cafe's available then back down to Thirsk over the Hambleton hills.
Some Fast open roads and some narrow fun lanes.
