Hi all

I'm looking at doing the Grand Tour route this weekend, COVID regs and weather permitting.

Can anyone point me to a google maps route link for this?

Ideally I would like to then download this route to my iPhone in case of likely loss of 4g signal.

thanks

James

Get a dedicated GPA as signal strength on some passes may be marginal.

Hi I am also doing part of the route this weekend, I’m going from Lairg ( where they planned the route) up Durness, I think they used the A838.

I will be in a grey VXR8, give me a wave if you see me.

God above I wouldn't worry about nav issues in NW Scotland- it isn't exactly over endowed with a big road network . A minute's googling will tell you all you need to know.

You’d have to be very very special to get lost up here. You could write the directions you’ll need on an envelope.

A few years ago I managed to, Well, not really lost, but took a wrong turning. Driving south from Kylesku to Applecross, saw a sign for Shieldaig, I knew this was on the way to Applecross so took it. I realised almost immediately but had a drive down to Red point anyway. The Shieldaig I wanted was another 30 miles down the A832.

No envelope but ironically I did have a satnav but no destination set, only used for totting up mileages etc.

<smug face> That, dear reader, is why I always keep a road atlas in my cars. </smug face>
