It's code. If you follow it you end up at a dogging spot. Don't believe me? I've followed the one by ours every night for 18 months and it's always a dogging spot.

Ha, pretty sure it's not that laugh Picture, thousand words etc:

Theyre going to plane the road surface before laying new asphalt. The cut starts on the line and continues in the direction indicated.

Definitely "overlay" suggesting they will plane out a 40mm to 0mm chase over approx 10m then lay 40mm of Hot Rolled Asphalt over the old road. If it's Warwickshire it will be HRA55/10f....
You dont see much hot roll now. Will they have a chipper pulled by the paver too?

Even in Warwickshire it’s unlikely they’ll try chipping HRA55/10…….. eek

It'll probably be SMA not HRA nowadays, if it's a full resurface. However if it's anything like Cumbria CC, they'll put down whatever they can get, in a lumpy mess, forget to roll it up and put overbanding on. Then worry why it need redoing in a couple of years.

I dont disagree at all, but there are still some local authorities who use hot roll instead of SMA.
