All the roads round here are mucky. If you want to keep your car clean don't come here. After 130 miles this week mud is dripping of my car when its parked. They don't seem to be gritting right at the moment but the farmers are planting so the roads are a mess.

Cheers.

Thought it maybe still a bit grotty.

An impromptu trip out this morning, not my default route, but the EVO is still good on mornings as dry, sunny and empty as this. A clear run back up the B5105 topped the morning off.

Bugger...thanks for that info. As per my other thread, I'm planning to specifically visit those areas on Friday. I'll keep my wits about me.

I was up there yesterday and had a great day out.

Helps if you are with others but a lot of enjoyment can be had whilst still driving safely and at sensible speeds

We were made aware (and saw) a metallic red Auris estate in the Shell station on the edge of Betws-y Coed who apparently sits in wait and checks vehicles over on a regular basis

As a matter of interest there was a piece on Wales Today 18.30 slot on 11th July about the Triangle and that people are using it as a racetrack - "attracting dangerous drivers from around the UK"
"Last month a 21 yr old was jailed [8 years] for causing the death of a couple there
There are calls for publications that promote the stretch to be referred to the regulators. "

They showed the You tube piece where the chap nearly stuffs his motor.

The lad had been doing speeds up to 107mph.

Take care, good people ☺

I wonder if they are thinking of any publication in particular...

I bet it will be this one - https://youtu.be/aoDAX1ZJ-g8?t=142
Here - https://goo.gl/maps/kuK7RftV6mo

Looking at the full vid, even without the advance warning in the title you can tell it's going to go pear shaped at some point.
Just watch his braking all the way through the clip. The driver was very lucky nobody was oncoming on that bend.

More of the same - http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/e...
This bit from the above article grabbed my attention though.

Conwy Council spokeswoman said:
It would be naïve to believe that such people flouting the existing limits would comply with lower speed limits.
Wonder of wonders. A public official with a real world view of a problem..

It seems that the three drivers referred to in the article above are going to have their wings clipped..

It baffles me why people feel the need to broadcast their indiscretions on social media.

They aren't speeding for personal enjoyment on the road. It's a 'please look at me'/seeking approval from strangers.

Because they're idiots.
And here's my ET personal favorite (just as well there wasn't traffic approaching in the opposite lane...)

Yup, lots of braking when already in the corner and realising they are going too fast. Not the brightest way to drive quickly

Following some serious accidents in this area recently, police patrols have increased for the summer period. Some activity by unmarked cars, particularly on Sundays

I've not bothered for a while now, on Saturday morning I just drove straight through Cerrigydrudion. Shame, but it was inevitable after the publicity it was getting. Decent couple of roads, ruined by a few. I can honestly say that I never seen any knobish driving on there; however, I only used it very early.

Nosnx

How much do you want to spend?

Possibly the cafe at Llyn Brenig
