The triangle is about 20min drive from my house but had never been. Went down on a week day a couple of months ago and very little traffic to be fair smile

There's a few other better roads around there too, one of my special roads which is half single track (didn't see another car for an hour when we stopped for a picnic). Love the TTRS btw smile

I was overthere a few Fridays ago at about lunch time and it was deserted - did four or five 'laps' slowly gettimng use to the new motor...

Epic is how I would describe the route and Motor....

Heading up at the weekend to do the triangle and few other of the Welsh roads with some friends over 3 days. Hugely looking forward to it as I've always wanted to go. Hoping the weather provides for some excellent photos and beautiful views.

We are planning to forge north of the Triangle for this year's run to try out some new roads.

Can anyone make a few suggestions?

I had an impromptu trip there on Sunday morning and back for breakfast thumbup

I haven't done the Triangle the last few times I have been out in the Elise. I have been enjoying another set of rods in the area. Anyway, the EVO is still good and Sunday reminded my why.

I am considering having a trip out tomorrow to help bed in the new tyres on the car.

I'll check weather in the morning and decided if it's worth it

I've just been out tonight.

Triangle in itself was good. Surrounding roads lots of plod out. 3 motorbikes in lay-bys, 3 speed camera vans and I have a feeling I have been snapped at 35/36 in a 30 by a camera van.

Took the enjoyment out of it for me.

Did the EVO this morning, albeit not all at once. We incorporated the sides into a big loop of some of North Wales' best bits roads.

It was early though, all of the EVO sections done before 8am. No plod on any of the 160 or so miles we did.

I was over on the triangle today, it's getting rather slippery in places, didn't ruin the trip though, here's some photographs from the day.

What do people think of the B4407 as a link between the triangle and Ffestiniog?

Usually I refuel in Betws then just take the A470 south to Blaenau but for this year I'm thinking of trying this if it's worthy.

Some of the roads in the area are a solid 8 or 9 out of 10 - what would you score this one?

Never tried it, but looks interesting, I like it when they pour a single lane of tarmac over a hill.

The B4391 (Ffestiniog towards Bala) that it joins onto is a great road too.

Haven't been along it for nearly 4 years. As long as the surface hasn't deteriorated since then it's a cracker.
Just be aware you might encounter this on the far side of a blind crest... smile - https://goo.gl/maps/394Tc6h4T2x

It's OK, nothing more. Single track with more traffic than you want for an "assault" on a single track road ..... but most likely excellent when closed off and used as a selective or special stage smile
There are other better roads.

I use the B4501, then past the reservoir to the B4391 and along there.

Best link route that. The others are very narrow and bumpy in sections.

Perfect, thanks guys - brings you out at my usual lunch stop - Café Frongoch - so that's ideal.

Anyone give me an update on the roads in North Wales (Ruthin down to Bala), are they still salted/gritty?
