Interested to know what difference an extra 3mm on the throttle body makes. Not a mod I'd heard of before.

This seems an appropriate place to ask but I just remembered reading somewhere that the ST in stock form won't allow the throttle to be opened 100% or something along those lines, is that right or some sort of misunderstanding or urban myth?

Nice, but i would prefer the silver wheels myself.

What sort of bhp gains do you rekon with the mods, anything else planned?
At the time i bought them and got them painted because i wasnt sure if i would like black or not.

Put them on and wasnt sure and am still only 99.99% happy with them but i think they look good!

With regards to mods the things ive done are the remove the main restrictors. The airbox for example is a maze on unneded piping and airbox. Simple k&n gives better throttle response and lets the engine breathe and pick up better

60mm throttle body is said to give 17%more airflow. Generally it hasnt made a massive difference to performance (still got a very restrictive exhaust on, which ill get onto) throttle response is better and has a smooth idle( 57mm can jump around a little bit at times)

The exhaust has a flexy pipe which goes very narrow at one point. The new system is a larger bore all te way through will a 200cell sport cat.

I reckon if it got 170bhp on a dyno id be happy at that smile

As i said bellow, better airflow and smoother idle , throttle response and rev range . tis a very popular mod but the price of them ate extorsionate . They used to be about 90quid new, then the suppliers cottoned onto it and now they charge about 300quid redface

It's like Focus ST brakes for Mk3 Mondeos. I picked them up for £50. If you see them for £250 now, it's a bargain.

I drove a Fiesta ST185 Mountune, with the Sparco(?) seats and the kW suspension... it was a hoot. Sometimes wish I'd bought it...

Thanks smile Errmm they do pop out but be very careful as they can crack snap and break if theyre cold ( as i found out on one of them! Try and put a bit of heat onto them with a hair dryer or something, theyre well clipped in with 3 clips and they can be a bugger but they should just pop straight out!

Also been out in another friends supercharged st, was 299bhp at the time and was silly quick!
He did have it upto 328bhp but stripped it and got a focus rs

Hello there!

The car is looking really good. So good in fact it has swayed my decision about destriping & destickering mine. I have often thought about it looking at properly clean examples with the dark wheels like mine has thumbup

Also have you found any calipers for me yet? hehe

It's a good road that one. I took the scenic route to Flore (that little spur off the Roman Rd is great in both directions!). Know what you mean about about the dipped camber - although the ST220 is a big old bus, so doesn't get as unsettled as the missus' Fabia vRS (ooh, lift-off oversteer! driving ).

censored forgot about that. I've put it on my "to do" list. If I've still got them, they'll be in one of two places. Will try and check during the week.

scratchchin might have to meet up for a hoof round some of the local lanes! biggrin

That's a very nice Fiesta - tastefully done too - The only criticism I have are the German style number plates, that detail spoils it a bit. Apart from that, top job thumbup
