Fabby! It looks much better with the right wheels.

My car was probably red when new, but has been painted in a shade of blue which may be a BMW colour. The rear bumper may come from a silver car.

Roy has fixed some electrical snags - for example, when I bought the car you could not operate the windows if the lights were on. Mine has a silly ASBO exhaust, which makes a fruity noise. It has an after market glass sunroof. I have just stuck the correct 2.2 decals on the B pillars, and am pondering a strip of silver coachline tape.

Someone made a half-hearted attempt to key the Murena last night. Pretty feeble work. I have touched it in already. Come on Scrote; if you're going to Scrote, Scrote!

Well you're lucky them buggers didn't kick the side mirrors off, that's the other Murena part that has become unavailable.

Too bad the panels are made of plastic. Otherwise putting a high voltage on them would definitely scare them off. Better still, fit an antitheft device like in this commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UPniOAMx94

Oui, bien sur! Which one is the wife, and which one is the mistress/rental?

Here is the Murena hanging out with a few friendly jalopies at White Waltham Airfield.

I think I have a leaky sunroof, judging by the damp seat.

It might be worth checking with the doctor all the same.

A nice Matra-shaped surprise at the end of this vid (which is quite an entertaining vid in itself) biggrin

Horrid bonnet painting! The car buff ought to know that the Murena's body is fibreglass/polyester, not aluminium, but I suppose if you have that many cars you may not get all the details right.

You've got me looking now:

Not keen on gold though its a good 80's colour but the interior trim in that example has to be seen to be believed.

Murenas command much higher prices on the Continent than they do in the UK. Maybe I should stick mine on French eBay and cash in.

My neighbour's Murena is black with a dark orange velour interior. And yes, they do command quite good prices still on the Continent

That "platine" colour in the ad looks great on the car.

It is beginning to grow on me.

I had a Rover 800 fastback (MK1) in the same colour and it did look better than plain silver, a little more expensive.

I still think that bright red example looks fantastic though.

But those seats couldn't be more "porno" if they were made from whale foreskin. Perhaps they were.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

PS: arse; the electric window on the driver's side has packed up. I hope it's just the switch, and not the motor.

Saw one of these in Brown a couple of days ago. Yep, another 'popular' 80s colour.

Smallish single exhaust with silencer mounted across the back. Is it safe to assume it was a 1.6?
