Assuming that it's been welded properly it'll be fine. Otherwise wouldn't most cars on the road have the same potential for catastrophic failure?
Also the cage that been fitted makes this much stronger than a normal monocoque shell.
How will you reduce the propshaft length?

This is why the idea of any modified chassis requiring IVA is so awkward. However, you can imagine other vehicles like this not being done with such care and attention. I assume a structural inspection will be required by the insurance company when it goes on the road? That should be enough, surely, IVA covers so much other stuff which hasn't altered and costs loads!

Hello,

Im i know this car is cut and shut but its been done properly by myself, the cut across the floor was done over an existing joint which had been overlapped by an inch and spot welded by factory so all did was cut out the length i needed and re-overlapped the joint by an inch and mig weld it both sides arcoss the floor so its better now than it was, where i did a striaght butt joint on the inner sills i put a plate across with swag lines in to stiffin it up, i have lots of experince welding and fabricating, the prop shaft has already been shorten and remade a friend did the machining work on it for me and i welded it up,

Thanks for looking Will

Is it too late to use a light blue Rover 100 Kensington for the 'sheeps clothing' part of the adventure?

No matter. I remain a huge fan of your work.

You will be submitting it for an IVA though, won't you ?

It's neither a Citroen nor a Mitsubishi any more.

Cap duly doffed for the excellent work, but don't spoil it by not going the last step and keeping it 100% legal. beer

As much as I am not a fan of either Jap or French metal, this is an awesome project. Well done!
