Not mine but my dads - ex works car that he owned for almost 20 years, competing in fairly successfully at local / national rallies and had to sell about 10 years ago.

Last we heard it was being restored but not seen much progress last 3 or 4 years frown

Would love to buy it back for him one day.

Can't believe its been gone nearly ten years now - needed the funds to buy a business. Still run the business today, but its been nowhere near as much fun as the car rolleyes
I'm just about to do the same and sell my 355 to fund a business buyout. Would really like to try and avoid it if i could but my accountant says sell it. I searched for years to find my low miles Rosso/Crema 355 Manual, Berlinetta with carbon seats and i know i won't ever find another.... Someone talk me out of it please!

Not quite as glamorous as some of the metal in this thread, but all the same, I was sad to see it go.

It was my mk4 VW Golf GTI (Red I for those into it). It was a 1.8T, with a very nice spec. Was a late 2001, but got the AUM engine, OEM Xenons, Headlamp wash, heated mirrors and washer jets, heated seats, climate, full leather Recaro seats, 5 doors, and lots of fun. It was a hoot to drive, and despite all the slagging the Mk4 got for being fat, out of shape etc, it was a very good car, and could easily cover large distance at many leptons and leave you with a smile. Aside from coil packs, it never really gave me any issues, and I was genuinely sad to see it go.

I traded it in for an E46 330cd M Sport Convertible, which I also loved, but if I could have managed it, I would have loved to keep it as a 2nd car for the mrs (instead we ended up buying a fiesta for her).

It was my first turbo car, and torque was impressive at the time. I had a Revo map on it eventually, and it loved it, ran so well. It really was a shame to see it go, especially given the spec and the love I gave it. Oh well, i wonder where it is now....

1999 TVR Chimaera 500. Bought 2001 with 8k miles, sold 2004 @ 19k miles. Condition was as new. The pictures were the ones I took at the end of my ownership. Faultless. A special car.

It brought a tear to my eye as it burbled off towards the horizon.

Yea.. I bet that lot today will be worth well over a £250K....! But funnily enough I only paid £47K for the Z8.... So was well pleased to sell it for £55K thinking I had swam the Chanel.....! And that will be worth at least double that today.....!

Sadly lost to rot and unemployment, wish I'd held onto it, I was up st creek financially and when I got my 6 pages of fail and the quote for the amount of welding she needed I broke her to pay the bills, 2 months later found a job, made a top family car, super economical and was a real lost love. frown

Actually hurts!

Vectra V6. Sold earlier this year because I had too many cars on the drive! These get a lot of bad press, but I loved mine. One previous owner, FVXSH and the requisite X30XE cams and the noise! Oh the noise! The A3 turbo that effectively replaced it can't hold a candle, so I'm getting another one (GSi this time).

More sentimental than anything else, it was my first "fast" car and in my eyes back then it did everything.

Put a non-res exhaust on it for some hatfield tunnel childishness, i still get a twinge of nostalgia if i see one about.

and yes, those are fluffy dice tongue out
I'm holding on to mine, which was bought by my father as new. No modifications, apart of an ST200 throttle body and Brembo front discs.

Now you just hang on one cotton pickin' minute. You can't just leave that there.

Details, quick, and lots of them.

Anyone who listens to business advice from an Accountant needs their bumps feeling. Especially if it evolves selling the best ever, appreciating, fezza.
