Sorry, when I say "them" I meant the drivers.

That's easy enough, still can't find these mirrors though...

Wibble! Can I assume it's gulf colours? Any more progress?

A little more progress.

I know it’s the slowest build ever but the end is now finally in sight, phew...

Love the build.

One question though, how do you plan on getting the completed car off the stands?

Cheers everyone, it has a front now too, all the body is only rested on though so no sneezing in the garage hehe

Struggling with time and garage temperatures at the moment but hope to have a running engine very soon... biggrin

Oh and I think the answer to getting the car down is as already said, bloody carefully, and with the help of an engine crane or two.

Surely a number of short scaffold planks is all that is required - place stacks under wheels and drop a corner at a time by a board at a time - its how I got a car down off a movable dolly at quite a height off the floor

I'm not sure how much a GT40 replica weighs, or what the weight distribution is like, but the accepted method of getting a Seven off build stands is an engine crane at the engine end and a few burly mates at the other. Works a treat.

If your local, I can lend a hand with the lifting if you need it.

A fantastic looking build and I'd hate you to think that I'm trying to teach you how to suck eggs, but if it's going to be in Gulf colours then the wheel rims should be polished with only the spokes in orange. It's not an easy life when even the GT40 Wiki page has a photo of what seems to be an official Ford car in (incorrect) Gulf colours, including all-orange wheels, but it is in fact only a tribute car.

Having said that I've learned enough on here not to claim that there was never a Gulf GT40 with all-orange wheels.

Please keep the photos coming in; it's a wonderful build.

That's why I said "If". Never assume anything! biggrin

When talking about historic cars on here it's fatal to use the words 'never' or 'always' as some clever clogs will always prove you wrong.

And I just broke my rule twice. smile
