Thank you!

Deposit taken - it's being collected in April.
Did you end up buying the standard low mileage one in the end?

That silver one is going to be a bargain for someone!
The silver one is the same car through out this thread which mwstewart ones/owned.

I know it's vulgar to ask, however, having followed this thread since the start and having looked at other sales adverts for the car numerous times but not quite being able to justify it.. what was the final sale price? PM if you prefer.

Why does the exact price matter. I'm sure the answer is very close to the asking price, if there was any discount at all.

As others have said, a bargain considering. There's no way you could take a £15k one and make it this good for £10k, atleast not without 100's of your own man hours in it.

I've always had an interest in the value of E46 M3s; however with this car being (IMO) the best E46 M3 available for sale it would be interesting to find out where the high tide mark has been set... and the reason I asked the question was because I didn't catch the eBay auction before it finished, so I don't know whether it was listed at a reduced price to the other adverts I'd seen previously.

Hope that clears up any confusion for you.

I think it was listed around £25 K from memory - I thought it good value for the work put into it.........

Lovely car

Perfectly reasonable to ask, it's good to know what sort of place the market is in.

I'll leave the new owner to disclose the price if he wants to. I may be old fashioned in considering it private, but suffice to say I don't think it would be a surprise smile

I know, but I seem to remember earlier in the thread the OP was interested in buying a standard low mileage late model car and keeping it original (...) and was wondering if he every did go through with that plan, or if he is now M3-less

Ahh, I remember - the one from Hexagon; no, I didn't. This was my third E46 M3 and it's now time for a change.

If carlsberg did car advertising.......
Great detail on this advert, I wish all car adverts were as detailed as this.
Love your cars and the mods.yes

Has the sale been confirmed? I'm looking for the best version of an E46 M3 I can find and this has to be the best candidate so far.

What's the latest?

Thank you. The transaction has been completed. I have the car until July as that's when we're both next free to meet up for collection. Perhaps at some point the new owner will drop in.

Good luck with the search - there are still good ones out there but for whatever reason often not on forums.

Hi all,

Having browsed the forums, particularly Readers Cars, for many years (which is where I first came across this car and it’s fantastically detailed thread) I have finally taken the plunge and registered. Why? I am the very (very) excited future owner of this very M3. I have a habit of idly browsing PH classifieds, eBay etc (surely no harm can come from just window shopping?!) when a lovely looking, low mileage silver M3 appeared. It looked familiar, and when I found a link in the advert to the PistonHeads thread I felt this was just too good an opportunity to miss. I have previously owned a V8 M3 convertible, and currently own an M4 convertible, but never an E46. This was an itch that I really wanted to scratch.

Only problem is I don’t currently live in the UK, but still have storage for cars which is useful. I called MWStewart as soon as I could, wondering how to not appear to be a scammer of some kind - I know I would be pretty suspicious if I received the call I was about to make! I figured the only way I could prove myself to be genuine was to make a sensible offer and back that up with transferring a reasonable deposit asap. Fortunately MWStewart was an absolute gentleman to deal with, the deal has been concluded and he is kindly storing it for me until I can collect in the summer. It will have been 6 months from placing deposit to picking it up, and the excitement has only been building in that time. I really like my DCT M4 but have been missing an analogue, manual car since I sold my much loved S2 Exige a year ago, so July cannot come quickly enough!

Rather than spoil this thread I will aim to start afresh once I have collected the car, although sadly I have neither MWStewart’s time (or more importantly, skill!) to continue to enhance the car in the manner he has, but it will be cherished and continued to be finessed (with others wielding spanners) in my ownership. To be continued.......

You're creating the ultimate OEM+ M3! I can't wait to see the finished article, but at the same time, I want to keep reading updates - forever! biggrin
New to this thread and your past build blog.

All I can say is, what an absolutely mad project, in all the best ways. Must take hours and hours and a huge amount of funding!
