I can understand the track tyres, but winters? on a GT86? each to there own lol
Most likely an epic car in the snow, LDS+rwd is the most fun you can have. I hope you live in a snowy place smile

New winter wheels arrived today. For anyone into their old school Japanese wheels they are Do-Luck Double Sixes. They're MAT formed so should be pretty strong.

These look great! Can't wait to see them on smile

there's always the option of having the 86 turbo or supercharged but it's not a route I've wanted to take.
I believe some engine builders are getting superb results using turbo chargers. 911 Turbo pace was one quote I heard. Aren't you a little bit tempted? smile

In Japan there are tuner cars with 550 or so hp so probably not far off 911 turbo pace (at least the older ones anyway).

But no - I'm quite happy na but I will look into a manifold to remove the torque dip and give a little more power.

This is pretty much my inspiration:-

New winter tyres arrived yesterday. I have been so impressed by the Nokian WRA3's over the last 4 years that I decided to try their replacements - the WRA4. If they improve on the A3's as much as Nokian suggest they do they should be fantastic.

After my experience with the A3's on the CATDT day I'm also intending to run them for most of the year just swapping my Cup 2's on for track time and maybe July / August.

Picked up some new rear lights as I'd never been a massive fan of the stock ones. As soon as I'm feeling healthier they'll be going on:-

Like the look of those rear lights.

I run Nokian's as our winter wheels and they're very god, Hakkapelitta R2's amazing in the snow considering they don't have studs.

Have to say I've been nothing bit 100% impressed with the Nokian's I've used so far.

It's the dreaded insurance renewal time this month. I've been with Chris Knott pretty much since I had my 86 and been really happy but I've moved to Greenlight this year simply because of the excellent additional track cover they offer for £45 with a £1000 excess which is better than any other one off track quotes I've had. Since becoming ill this year I'm no longer able to give my all to sprints but need to start ticking off a few more bucket list items of which more track driving is one.

My Greenlight quote was £420 with all mods declared and a £350 total excess.

I was a bit concerned the lights may not be that bright when they're on with how tinted they are. Don't think I needed to worry!

Also, I'm not much of a car cleaner but I've picked up these Madcow products to try:-
