Awesome! The saying 'you can never have too much power' comes to mind. 4 wheel rolling burnouts in 2nd sound like fun, although some form of traction control would make for epic launches.

What state is it in now, is it back on the road?

I am pleased with all the lovely comments.

I repainted it the original red colour due to it being well known in max power. I have toyed with white and make an homage to the full rally colours. At the moment it is staying red.

It is still stuck at the fabricators and I am collecting in May 2020.

There is still a lot of work to go...electric adjustable corsa power steering running quaife manual rack, Wrc pedal box, Wrc sill stands, new fuel tank, new exhaust tucked up in the raised floor, seat mounts.....

I had the poster of this actual car on my wall as a late teenager. I was looking for parts for my 1.9 gti on pistonheads sale section and noticed it for sale, when I saw that it was under 5 miles away I jumped in the car and handed the owner (Matt) the money and took it home....the wife was not as excited as me.

The pic above is on the old owners drive when I bought it. All 4 previous owners have been in touch and 2 lost their licences in it.

Good to see progress and will be even more mental with that engine Spec. I use Mark for mapping my Dax, such a great bloke and amazing to see the magic he conjures up with a few clicks of the laptop smile

Do you have a envisaged time frame for yours to hit the road again?

Yes, Mark Shead is a genius and nice bloke too.

I am hoping to be on the road by August 2020 which is about 12-18 months longer than had planned.

Good stuff, fingers crossed and hope you meet the "new" timeline. These projects do have a habit of creeping a tad wobble

Yes, I will certainly take more care.

I am not that interested in blasting along over 100 mph, I just love accelerating and doing point and squirt stuff in this.

Good question, I do not know...will have to ask.

We may be at crossed purposes, I do mean the uprights that hold the wheel bearings.

There was a white Dimma 205 Cosworth back in the day I seem to remember. There is also an Impreza 205 I know of.

Yes, seem the Impreza one, I have seen a few white Dimma (mine is not a Dimma, it is a Rally Cross T16 kit.). H20 COS is probably the best we’ll known Dimma 4x4.
