In 205/60 14 all I could find was Falken, Nankang or Nexen. The car had 195/60 14s on, but 205 is the original spec.

I have decided to spend 300 quid at Eurocarbs getting the Dellortos reconditioned. So that's about 800 quid spent on the car already what with tyres, starter and stuff.

Like it smile
Bills so far seem very reasonable, my annual splurge on the Plus 2 certainly adds up.

I love the purity of the original design....but I am also a sucker for boooost

I think this just needs a couple of bits bolting on and a lick of paint, a weekend's work?

Quite. I can see that one sticking around for quite some time.

On flea bay it's already reached the giddy heights of 2.6 kilopounds. Pfft.

One chap puts up an honest sounding ad for a red Esprit with an MoT until next April. Another puts up a rubbish ad for a red Esprit that is in bits and wants more money for it.

Love these. Cousin of mine had an Elite in white in the early 90s. That switchgear looks like it's from a TR7.

Currently reading a book on Chapman. Seems he wasn't all that interested in the roadcars, they were simply a means to fund his racing activities.

Good move getting the Dellorto's rebuilt, they may still need fettling now and again to keep them happy, i've found that pretty simple though, most uneven idling problems is the ballance screw on the linkage between the carbs.

If I remember correctly you live relatively locally to me. You'd bloody better use this so I can see it on the road! Love it!

The second one plus a respray would come to more than this turbo-nutter X180 beauty:

Such a lot of car for the money

That does look lovely FA - puts the other add into perspective.

When I open the Link, the bay of e suggests other Lotus cars for sale. Is it wrong that I'm finding myself drawn to M100 Elans?

Apologies for the slight hijack Gerard.

I ran an 87 Excel for a while, I absolutely loved it when it worked. Wasn't a fan of the roof lining falling over my eyes at inopportune moments.

They all do that, Sir. The headlining on this Eclat is surprisingly undroopy. I suspect foul play.

Carbs off and carted off to be cleaned and fiddled with. The pump jets on one of them were shaggered. New starter motor fitted. Dash cleaned, but still shonky.

Thirty quid's worth of mats in dark grey carpet with yellow binding have lifted the interior as well (and the previous owner fitted new carpets all over). eBay rooolze.

Lovely Eclat BV. My fake Uncle Eddie had one back in the early 80's, he lived next door to my granny Agnes. It nearly backrupted him.

Looked fantastic though, I remember walking up to my grans house with this car parked outside, was a truely stunning machine back in those days.

I'd ditch the back spoiler though...
